Default Which team was the winner of the trading season??

Meaning, which team most improved its chances of making or advancing in the playoffs with the trades made?

I was going to say the Reds but Im gonna go with the obvious choice because I think they did improve a lot...

The Reds addressing their bullpen trouble makes them the clear winner in my book.

I will say the Reds. They vastly improved their bullpen with the likes of Bray and Majewski, along with their infield defense by replacing Lopez at short with Clayton. Complete dogs when the season started, and now just need a little starting pitching to maintain their position in the playoff hunt.

The reason why I think Reds were not a clear winners is that I think they really blew it in their first deal. Dealing Lopez and Kearns for Gary Majewski, Bill Bray and Royce Clayton. They did upgrade a little defensively but they gave away too much offense...

Tigers. They needed a solid 1st basemen, and got one with Sean Casey. Plus, he just hit a home run for the Tigers, so he is producing right away for the Tigers.

To some extent, I agree. It would have been difficult for me to trade Lopez and Kearns alone, and also throw in Ryan Wagner. All three of those guys were 1st-round picks, early ones at that. It's hard to believe that at least one of them won't go stud at some point in his career given their age.

But the more I look at it, the Reds made a great deal for themselves right now. Bray really could be a great long-term investment. And the upgrade defensively at short with Clayton is underrated in most of the trade analysis I've seen.

The Reds threw away 2 guys in the prime of their careers.
Nice one!!! Reds won't even make the playoffs this year.

Very obvious it is the Yankees!!!

Who voted for the Tigers? They were the biggest losers of all the contending teams not located in Boston.

EDIT: Never mind. Must be something in the water in Area 51.

I voted for them because Casey hit a home run in todays game. No other reason.

That's probably good enough, because the trades this year were PATHETIC.

surely not the Padres. Best GM in baseball gets Todd Walker. I know it isn't S.Alderson fault but the owner is so damn cheap we will never have a winner in San Diego. Oh well I guess its time for football season.

Seems like with baseball, teams are more interested
in short term goals rather than long term goals.
