Here's what I don't get:
In the days leading up to VegasDave's hiring the forum was basically one thread after another about who would get the job. People were applying and campaigning and speculating and circle jerking non-stop.
Then Dave got hired.
It seems to me that there is still a spot to fill right now, but I don't hear a peep.
Not complaining, just remarking.

Dave knew he was getting the job back in Dec if I heard right. So all the post were pointless as VD already had the job!

Most likely financial reasons. SBR fired 3 mods within 2 months. They were all 3 exceptional in their work. Negative cash flow is the primary reason of layoffs in the US.

If BBD was fired than that is fukked...But lets not confuse two issues (BBD's leaving, VD's Hiring)...A Mod's job is to be a people person, a reliable person, and someone with insights on where this site is/where it should go, not a successful gambler.... Thats what posters do.... I welcome Vegas Dave with open arms as a mod.... He has proven he has the necessary capabilities for the job he was chosen for....  |

Because if you resign you can use the old job for referrals. If you get fired you can't use the old job on your resume for referrals. So there is value given the option to resign or get fired. It is very common in professional sports coaching.
