Lightbulb 2012 Year Round Capping Contest!!!!

Contest will run all year (2012) for all possible sports and options (ML, totals, sides). 1000 point buy in. If you think you are a Boss at making picks come join. Min 2000 picks Max 4000 picks. This should at least get rid of a lot of short term luck.
1-5 bet range (5 5x bets for the year...that is the max SBR provides).

    Anyone interested?
If there are at least 4 others I will start the contest; I have it all set up.

Why not drop the points to 500 or 250 and you will get more entries

As the poster who has run the "high roller" football contest the past 2 season you will be hard pressed to have a contest with a 1000 point buy in
after much debate 2 years ago 125 was what peaked interest
shoot for a 250 point buy in but to be fair make a February 1st cut off for entrants, that way it keeps the spirit of capping all year in all sports

    just a few suggestions...

weekly payouts, and 2000 plays sounds like a lot... Shouldn't be forced to make plays

I wanted a high count of plays, because people can play any ML. Ppl can have a lot of short term luck, but if they continue to bet -2100 on all their bets, they have a very slim chance of ever winning in the long run.

Also I wanted to give month payouts, and then a larger payout for the end of the year, but the setting won't allow it (at least to my knowledge).

Maybe we can get SBR_Lou to make the contest.

PM SBR LOU, maybe he can get it sponsored in addition to posting up...

monthly payouts would be fine too...

I'd say to max ML to -500 , Are parlays/teasers allowed...

I don't think 2000 plays is a lot, that comes out to like 6 plays a day. Also, unlimited money lines are fine of you make the units RISK instead of BASE

2000 plays is way to much, its forcing so many plays.... like playing 5 ivy league games on a friday night...

I sometimes have 6 plays a week... I think it should be min 500 plays max 1000 plays...

2000 plays, is too many. 365 should be the amount.

I say no more than 500 and no ML over -500... using only one book at the time of the post....

Can't put a ceiling on ML amounts, he is running this (if it happens) through SBR Contests. So either set contest up as RISK or take out MLs for hoops/foots.

I think he intends on running it through SBR Contests, so anyone can play regardless of the amount.

I would take out the 5x Best Bets since plays are already ranged 1-5. That means Best Bets would be 25 units, not good.

Would def be interested in this - although going to need to hit a few plays in the SBR book to get involved. 4000 cap on plays is fine imo. Min 1000 at least, would prefer 2000.

When is the cut off for entry? Definitely interested but need to start gambling my points instead of giving them all away =)

Maybe two different contests: both for 100 points.
    1) monthly with min 50 per month (50min,150max)
    2) all year, 1500min, 3000max

I will probably join both, and I assume others will to(?)

It is just too many picks for me. I am more of a quality picker rather then a quantity picker. I know it stretches through all sports but I will have to force picks to accumulate that many because i don't bet ML's that will add picks for people

2000 picks really isn't that much... there is days in college hoops where on a Saturday you can have 10 picks or up...

I'll keep an eye out to see what the final contest looks like.. that should be enough time to turn my low amount of points in to 1000 in the sportsbook

I think 2000 plays is way way too many. 6 plays a day all year long, that's insane. Even the worst degenerate gambler can't bet that many games.

sure he can. on average? if your into everything like degenerate gamblers are??? on a given day AT THE LEAST, you'll have MLB through july and august, and we all know there are usually atleast 3-4 games a day. most of the year you'll have mlb+nhl+nba+ncaab OR +nfl+ncaaf. Saturday and sundays you'll have 10+plays in EACH SPORT, and you can rake up 50 plays a day. 2000 isn't too much, its not EASY, but i think that's what the original guy wanted

If one could bet halves in football and basketball I'd be all for the 2000+ plays.. but seems high without.
