Default Tiger Woods Wins Chevron World Challange

Sinks the putt on the 18th to get his first win in over 2 years.

It's nice that Woods won his own tournament----

But you do realize it isn't an official money tournament on the PGA tour?

It is supposed to consist of the top 11 players, but nearly all of the European players, including Rory were playing elsewhere.

    Sharp post

    This win isn't even noteworthy.

What's he playing in next week, the CLIFTON, NJ 4-man scramble?

So he beat a field of 18 players in a non PGA event where many of the top players were not present, lets not get to excited.

Yeah I know it was his own tournament, and I could careless where Rory is at. I don't get why everyone has crowned Rory a golfing god after one major win. You know how many golfers have just won only one major? The win will count in the world rankings.

Rory is going to win a lot of majors, not even in his prime yet. He won today too btw.

Where are players 1-5? You know, the very best players in the world?

Put it this way, what would college football look like if LSU, Alabama, Stanford, Oregon, and Oklahoma State weren't around?

well, plenty of people said tiger wasn't one of the 100 best golfers in the world. so a guy not in the top 100 surely wouldn't beat 17 guys in the top 50 would he?

players 1-4 are all non-us players so your analogy is kind of ridiculous.

    ATM that is an oxymoron.
Without Woods and Lefty at their best, US golf is very much in the doldrums.

Good for Tiger though, I think the game needs him. Hope his knee holds up.

Good field at Chevron but there is a big different between a 16 player field and a 100+ player field.

Plus this tournament is unofficial, guys aren't going hard.

the same place the 1-4 players have been for a while, hiding in Europe playing in easy tournaments. They fly to the states and can't win very much over here. 4 of Luke Donalds 11 wins are on the PGA Tour. 2 of Lee Westwoods 36 wins are on the PGA Tour.

We have way more exposure to the PGA Tour so it is hard for us to not be bias.

I don't follow the European Tour much but the tournaments are definitely not easy, lot of great talent over there.

Not biased, facts are just facts.

USA has 18 top 50 players on the world. Europe has 15 top 50 players in the world.
USA has 21 players 51-100 in the world. Europe has 11 players 51-100 in the world.

It doesn't matter who the competition is. All that matters is Tiger playing well. If he plays well he wins. Its just an issue of getting into a real rhythm. He needs to really grind it out the next 6 months and then he might be able to start playing back at his old level.

Doublej might be the only sharper golf poster on the board than me and we've both been behind tiger thru this whole shltty ride. He WILL win multiple tournaments next year and at least one will likely be a major.

Anyone who's watched him play in his last three events sees the difference.

Fuk the world...Tiger does things his way....and probably banging all kinds of sloots now.

PGA Tour is better, but the talent gap is not big enough to call European Tour tournaments easy.

There are far more softballs on the euro tour than PGA tour. Keep in mind that a lot of euros move up the rankings on the PGA tour and in majors. Not many Americans move up the rankings on the euro tour.

30 or so were majors and WGC, so only around 8 real Euro events.
