    Default -1 Runline

    I know Pinny offers -1 RL for bases. And someone here also mentioned bet365 offers -1 RL, but when I checked their lines I don't see the -1 RL option.

    Do I have to login to see it or Bet365 doesn't offer it?

    any other books offer -1 RL for bases?

    Thanks

    Do a search. You can bet ML and RL anywhere to get -1 line.

    Doug,

    i would love to see that formula!

    Here's a made-up example of how to make a -1 line : Numbers may not reflect actual odds on what happens when going +/- 1.5 runs with a +175/ -185 game, I made the line up quick.

    Boston +175 +1.5 -115
    NYY -185 -1.5 +105

    You want NYY, but don't want to lay -185, and will take a push if they win by one, instead of a loss laying -1.5 runs.

    take the ML ( 185) divide it into 100. That's 100 divided by 185, which = .5405 .5405 is your multiplier.

    add 1 to the multiplier to get 1.5405

    divide that into 1. That's 1 divided by 1.5405= .6491
    Where basing this on a $100 bet, so multiply .6491 X100= 64.91

    That's what you bet on ML

    64.91 at -185= 35.09

    you take the ML payoff ( 35.09) and bet it on RL

    35.09 at +105= 36.84

    so you have:

    64.91= 35.09 on ML
    35.09= 36.84 on -1.5 RL
    _______________________

    100= 71.93

    100 divided by 71.93 gives you a -1 line of -139

    If NYY win by one you win the ML for 35.09 and lose that 35.09 on RL for a profit/ loss of zero. It's not too difficult once you do it a few times.

    You effectively make a -1 line at any book or combination of books.

    Don't credit me, credit RX'er Illini.

    This is the spreadsheet I had posted with respect to synthesizing ±1 run lines.

    It's not my original idea, learned from Illini at RX.

    When I read stuff such as this, I realize just how little I actually know and how much there is to learn. This is really awe-inspiring, well for me at least; I wonder what comes next?
