jj ... all European/South American/African/Asian/Oceania major games are off for two weeks because of World Cup Qualifiers .... which is actually a good thing because international football can be a lot more predictable .. but it will take a braver man than me to post a pick ...??

What books are musts for soccer in case I decide to test the waters?
SBR Founder Join Date: 8/10/2005
Raiders .. ironically, Pinnacle is the best value IMHO. If you can sleep with the Carribean element, then definately. That tells you how poor Euro bookies are.

Thanks- Now throw out some soccer picks so I can jump in.

Raiders, soccer is tough .. a game can change literally in 10 seconds ... the counter-attacking 4-5-1 thing is all the vogue .... I really don't know about US sports but the purist would scoff at backing a favourite (if not, fill your wellies with Scotland to beat belarus at 1.5) ... that said, I havent finalised my picks ... prices still coming out.

I cannot believe even Pinny has some of the better Euro prices in soccer. I guess players will bet higher juice at other books.

Pinnacle has one of the best Euro prices in soccer...believe it...
But I suggest to try Betfair too, you can find higher oddses there....

JJ is there anything you don't bet on?
SBR Founder Join Date: 8/10/2005
Buddy I like action and bet mostly anything

Pinnale and Mansion are great for soccer. Betfair is even better!
There are no strong plays at the moment. That is because of this weeks world cup qualifiers. Wait 10 days and I will show you...

Pointbet and a couple of the Asian books should be great for soccer. Never used them though.
SBR Founder Join Date: 8/10/2005
I will give pointbet a look but I wonder if they take Americans?
SBR Founder Join Date: 7/20/2005
I think they do... Mansion is still the best soccer book though.
SBR Founder Join Date: 8/10/2005
What type of action does Mansion get Slasher?
SBR Founder Join Date: 7/20/2005
Pointbet is my choice for soccer action. earliest lines and best odds by far. IMO Pinnacle is very good too on soccer. Haven't tried Mansion or Betfair. Betfairs commission is a bit of a turn off for me.

Betfair has 5% commission on 1x2 soccer bets which is high, but the prices are so competitive that they beat the prices of other books most of the time. Even Pinnacle have high juice on 1x2 bets, just like the other UK books.
Asian handicaps are better value - lower juices at the books (and Pinnacle is good for this) and only 1% commission at Betfair. Never bet on them to see the liquidity at Betfair, though.

I always play asians. I have checked odds at many bookies including betfair, but pointbet have better odds in most matches. I've made a lot of profit during this summer betting Finnish second division games. They offer approximately 98% return on asianhandicaps and limits are huge.
Their location in Indonesia may be a concern to some people and their customer support personnels don't all speak perfect english, but i still rate it my number one book for soccer. Pinnacle is my choice for hockey and american sports and some of the soccer too.

I hear asians are the way to go. I am going to ost up small at pointbet and test it out

Pointbet doesn't offer CC or neteller deposits. You can use moneybookers, **, wire transfer etc..
I have used moneybookers which is like neteller but with smaller fees. Just to let you know, as i think most americans like to use CC or neteller.

Not from Europe but I can respect how awesome soccer is out there

Well, the World Cup in Germany might tickle your fancy in June ... only 36 teams and the US and Iran have both qualified ... so maybe a bit of a grudge match in the offing ...

Soccer in Europe is 50x what football is here in States

Soccer is pretty dull in England right now ... 8 games into the season one bookie has already paid out on Chelsea as champions ... attendanbces are startinbg to flag slightly ... and far too many women take up valuable seats at the big games.
Its all a bit showbizzy ... some clubs even play music when the home team scores now ... you could probably guess the tunes.
My brother was in germany with the army and got into Ice Hockey ... I reckon its the one sport I would love if I was American. Basketball is massive in the Balkans/Eastern Europe (places like Lithuania its the national sport). But some franchise folk have been desperately trying to get American Football bedded in Europe and I cant see it ever happening.
As for the followers, go onto the BA forum and hear some of the 'intelligence' spewed out there ... except my posts ... sports fans are the same the world over I think (and gamblers)
