There is no way to prove anyone on here, there is

You don't seem to realise that I've got better things to do with my time that to create duplicate aliases (like you have done at least 3 times).
Anway, I'll double the reward to $1000 for you. Contact the SBR techies and ask them, OK? I think they'll be able to give you the definitive answer. This is a free $1000, right?

"realise" is spelled with a "z" by the way taco...
SBR Founder Join Date: 8/18/2005
Actually realize can appropriately be spelled "realise" although the former is more often used than the latter.
SBR Founder Join Date: 12/16/2005
realise is English, realize is American. I think.

Yeah, you don't see it often but I think as Dark Horse mentioned you are more likely to see it from individuals who are taught a more classic form of English. Recognize/recognise follows along the same lines. There are many more examples that can be applied.Originally Posted by pags11

a more classical form of english?...I'm an english major bro, and I've never seen realize spelled that way...classical or otherwise...I just googled it with that spelling too and the only thing I got to come up was some internet company...

hey ourbet,
what's the capital of thailand?...LMFAO...I always liked that joke...
isetcap,
maybe I need to ammend my statement to never having seen realize spelled with a "s" in any American media...most of these links you've given me have ties to British media...I imagine you may be from a different country, but I do believe tacomax is from America (which leads me to believe it was more of a typo)...
SBR Founder Join Date: 8/18/2005
I can't speak for Taco but I am from America, which probably is why I use the word realize as opposed to realise. I get the impression that Taco has some manner of UK background and that is where his spelling originates from. Now since the English invented English, who am I to say that 'realise' is an incorrect spelling of the word 'realize'?
You are correct in that the majority of sites that are listed use English as their primary language but I think that is the language we are discussing here. I will reiterate that the use of the 's' is a more classic approach to the language as opposed to the 'z' which is America's more contemporary approach.
In reviewing Taco's careful approach to his posting, I would definitely say his spelling of the word is intentional.

I’m glad you asked pags because it reminds of something funny I saw the very first time I flew into Bangkok. As you may (or may not) know Bangkok is pretty much hailed as the sex capital of the world. Whilst the Thai authorities try to distance themselves from their capital city being labelled as such, I swear to you that the very first thing I could read in English as the plane taxied to disembark (it was about 1:30am and dark), was an illuminated sign which read “WELCOME TO BANG OK”.Originally Posted by pags11
