[SBRFORUM]BetDaq[/SBRFORUM] (Not Rated) is a betting exchange with pretty low volume however the low commissions do make them a useful out IMO. I wouldn't worry about the financial stability of them at all because they are a publicly traded stock and the payouts are pretty prompt from what I can tell.

You might want to checkout [SBRFORUM]SBObet[/SBRFORUM], [SBRFORUM]12Bet[/SBRFORUM], [SBRFORUM]Mansion88[/SBRFORUM], BetFair (volume purposes)

Not many good exchanges out there that has good volume on every sport. Just to name a few you can always checkout Betsson, Matchbook, [SBRFORUM]BetonBet[/SBRFORUM], intrade, [SBRFORUM]Mybet[/SBRFORUM], [SBRFORUM]Redbet[/SBRFORUM], EhorseX. I know Pinnacle is not a exchange however they do offer low vig like the other books I've mentioned above.

If you're going to use Betdaq, you may as well use Betmate really since they have the same odds and a standard 3% commission across the markets, 2% commission if you bet on soccer AH. You can get 3% at Betdaq by asking for it until the end of March as a gesture towards players leaving Betfair but then it will return to 5%.

As BBD said, the volume at Betdaq/Betmate in comparison to the likes of Betfair is incredibly poor except for certain markets, namely big soccer games on the AH which see a lot of action.

I fail to understand why anyone other than a market maker would pay 5% commission other than as a place for pickoffs and double-backs when Pinnacle and other books offer lines that will always be tighter without having to go through the exchange process. Even at 3%, the window where you can be better off is mighty thin. Matchbook offers 2%, which is good enough to be worthwhile except in the places where you can get a line that's 5-cents wide.

Of course, the bulk of action still seems to take place at -110 shops (or worse!) so it's likely mostly an education problem. Obviously even Betfair's 5% is a huge step up from -110.

All of that said, Betdaq is a site you can trust - the question is whether it is useful.

The other thing you want to remember about Betfair is the fact that they have that rule that penalizes winning players.

I agree with everything you wrote. The sports betting market needs a low-low commision exchange bookie. Mansion had it before at 0.5% for buyer and 1% for seller. It's probably only a question of time before an exchange like this breaks the market?

On the other hand, even if there were an exchange like that, you could still use alot of other bookies to shop your line.

    Dan, what rule is that?

I think he means the premium player charge, which seems practically indecipherable but is essentially a huge extra vig on anyone managing to beat the standard commission.

I think they reserve the right to sell your first born into slavery or something too.
