He did this 4 months earlier, possibly in anticipation of what was to come. I was listening on sports radio and Paterno was called "The Rat" by people around the university for his monitoring situations and spilling the beans. He knew everything that went on at the campus.

Look, I don't like paterno for still being the coach past 75 yrs old..I also think it is bad that he didn't report what he knew. However, people cover things up in many facets. Does it make it right..no way..but he cared about himself and the rep his school had
reporting or not reporting a child rapist to the cops is beyond 'ethics'

in a world where ohio st players get suspended 4 games, and in pryor's case nfl games, for hangin out in a tattoo parlor and hooking up a few autographs and memorbilia..how can this scumbag paterno ever think it was ok to allow kids to get molested by his crew under his watch and not be held accountable...they were trying to make him retire for awhile but he wouldnt...obvious evidence of his clout and pull at the university...he knew everything about everything else going on at penn st, so we are to believe he didnt know about this thing??
Yeah, they should just issue citations, no jail time, for child molesters.
There are tons of parents etc. that sell their homes to kids, wives, etc. for a $1...it's a loophole that many take advantage of to dodge the tax man...it just so happens that Joe Pa is a tad hot on the radar screen right now, and if he takes a dump people are alerted.

It's pretty unlikely that he'll be found not guilty but even if he is thats far from being proven innocent.

Paterno, didn't see this act happen, he heard about it, and then he told the Athletic Director. It's an ugly situation but I don't believe he approved of what happened I don't think he participated in it directly the only thing he is guilty of along with the witness and the AD is not getting on the phone and calling the police. It's wrong but many people see crimes and don't do anything about them because it is easier than getting involved.
