Default Is Money at Neteller Safe? And Other Longterm Considerations.

I have quite a ridiculously large sum at Neteller and I am max EFTing pretty quick here but its a slow process. But I heard the stock dropped pretty low- isn't there a chance that if this anti-gambling thing gets out of hand, Neteller will go under? Should I consider diversifying to sportsbooks and/or pokerrooms while getting out.

Are there any books that you feel are safe, regardless of what happens with US gambling? Is this the obvious A books? Pinnacle, Greek? How about Partypoker or other pokerrooms.

Okay- let's do it this way- what is your top 5 SAFE books regardless of what happens to US gambling.

ps. How safe do you feel Mansion is?

There is no max on EFT transfers from Neteller to your bank acct. It's either $2500 or $5k per transfer (can't remember which) but you can submit as many as you want in a day and they send them same day.

Neteller is regulated by UK government banking stipulations - I think that means that deposits are guaranteed by UK government up to 90% of £20000 ( $37000 ) - ie if they go bust you will get back approx $33000.

Hopefully this is correct but if anyone else has any other info I'm sure we'll all be interested.

That's not quite right, Kimmy. You're right that Neteller is regulated by the FSA but the 90% guarantee only applies to places like banks, not e-money institutions like Neteller.

From memory, for some reason I think that the maximum you'd be covered for if Neteller goes up is £1000 but I'm not entirely sure about that - but it's definately not £20,000.

Neteller is safe and so is Mansion. Both are courting and doing well in getting global operations.

From the perspective of financial security, NETeller is profitable, liquid, and growing like a weed.
That being said with the events of this week (DOJ Action), and the new US legislation, what prevents them from litigating NETeller, slapping them with a TRO ( Temporary Restraining Order ), etc

Nothing. But the question is are they safe? Unlike many of the books Neteller has the players money and would simply send it to them....hence, I think they are safe.(maybe not for their shareholders but for account holders yes)

Without any doubt NETeller have the money on hand and a run on the bank would not cause a collapse.

Neteller is liquid. They are hedged well outside of the volatile gambling industry and while their revenues will most assuredly decline, their model allows them to scale down without a great deal of burden on their viability. Should they start making poor investments, there may be cause for concern but that has nothing to do with the issues plaguing offshore gambling at the moment.

I would advise not keeping all your money with them simply because of fraud concerns. Keep the majority for sure, but some in the SBR top rated books keeps it so if someone gets access to your account, you aren't screwed trying to prove you were stolen from.
