Unless Dontrelle and Verlander bounce back in a huge way, they don't have close to the arms to do it. Even if they do return to their career bests I don't see it.

so i just looked, the tigers offense is pretty damned good, stat wise. though they have black holes at ss and 3b offensively. upgrade at catcher, plus we have noidea how long sheff or guillen will hold up
they have ZERO pen, nada. nothing, same as last yr.
and willis is done, and gallaragga will fall off a lot. verlander is above average i guess, as is bonderman, but they have no number one, just 2 #3's and 2 #4's and a dead weight dontrelle
i dont think its the worst bet ever but they have zero pen and the twins and indians have solid pens

Tigers have the best offense in the central by far. Pen is where they struggles. Starters collapsed last year.

Detroit seems to be the play, someone talk me out of it. I would only consider the White Sox a threat or alternative to the Tigers.

they are loaded with guys on the downside, thome, konerko, and also lost vazquez, who is decent

While I usually agree with your picks I can't see Detroit competing heavily in this division this year. They did not do enough in the offseason to even match last years record yet alone compete. If there was a line out there for fantasy match-up of a better record I'd take KC > Det.
Mind you Det is not a bad team but given the parody in that divison the last few years along with Det's lack of moves and abyssmal pitching staff all I can say is good luck.
My play? Take 1u on the other 3 +275 teams for a 0.75u profit.
