Default Calling in for oversize bets

Many sites say that you can place larger wagers over the phone, but every time I try it I find that it's one of those cases where the lines you want you aren't getting and (presumably) the lines you get you don't want. When everything was quiet I've been able to successfully call CRIS for MLB OUs, but that time delay can be deadly. Every call to every other book I've ever tried, I've had the line move on me or been outright refused. This includes lines that just moved in my favor, props that no one else was touching for hours, and in my personal favorite refusal the moneyline on SBXL.

Are these oversize bets just a myth and/or for suckers who want the wrong end of a line, or can a sharp use them?

Never reveal to the book what you're betting until they give you all the lines for the game. Once they give you a quote, it's locked in for the call. (Of course they can always hang up if they don't like the quote all of a sudden, a trick StanJames has pulled several times.)
