    Default Biggest Inconvenience Ever Betting Online: Unprofessional Conduct BETDSI (Diamond)

    Have been playing at this book for a couple years. I went to redeposit $200 tonight, seeing that they had a 20% bonus for Tuesday re-ups. The short conversation below will tell you all you need to know about this place's customer service and management style.


    ME: I noticed you have a reup bonus on Tuesdays, what is the bonus?
    Paola: it is 20% with 5 times rollover
    ME: ok set it up for my account
    ME: because i redopsited
    Paola: remember that you need to make the deposit tomorrow
    Paola: today is MOnday
    ME: its tuesday
    ME: thats the reason i just deposited
    Paola: nop right now
    Paola: right now is MOnday 31, 2011 at 10:02pm Pacific time
    ME: you are aware that there are other parts of the world than the pacific right?
    ME: it's tuesday over here.
    ME: and your promotion does not specify that it has to be tuesday pacific time
    Paola: sorry Sir, but the time that is valid is our time
    Paola: that is Pacific
    ME: thats not what it says on the website. now if you don't want to honor your promotion. you can refund the money i just sent you
    Paola: in two hours you will be able to apply for the promtoion...

    ME: i've been playing at this book for years, i'm not going to sit here and argue with you over a silly 20% bonus. either put the bonus in, or I will call my cc company and cancel the payment
    ME: then you can send me the link where it says it has to be tuesday, pacific time.
    ME: maybe you looked outside your computer screen you would realize that it is tuesday in the MAJORITY of the world.
    Paola: sorry but you need to wait 2 hours in order that the time will change, because in our country we are on Monday
    Paola: right now we are not able to credit the bonus due to the deposit that you made was on Monday
    ME: the majority of the USA, it is tuesday
    ME: the deposit was made on Tuesday. that's what my CC statement will show when i pay it
    ME: it will not say 10/31. it will say 11/1. if you have a problem with this please let me talk to your manager
    ME: i need to know immediately so i can cancel the payment if you don't honor your agreement. i will then be posting this conversation on SBR forum, where I am a member.

    I spoke to the supervisor over the phone, and he told me the same thing. I told him I'm not going to accept his bonus, because that's not what the promotion reads. Since I already deposited the money, I'm going to play with it, and that will be the last time I ever play at BetDSI.

    Never had an issue before in my life with an online sportsbook. Never even imagined people like Paola and this supervisor existed. Trying to argue with me about what day it is. I don't have time for these childish games. This is why I like dealing with real bookies in the real world and not behind computers screens and telephones.

    makes sense. you could have made a deposit from madrid at midnight madrid time, collected the tuesday bonus, then bet monday night football.

    it is bs that they didn't post the time zone that they use, but if you've been using the book for years why didn't you know the time zone they use?

    I did know what time zone they were. But the promotion never said it has to be Pacific Time. I just didn't think it would be an issue like that. For $40? I have spent thousands with this site.

    I told the lady, when my cc bill comes in, it's going to show the deposit was made on TUESDAY 11/1, not monday 10/31. I've never received a bonus from DSI one time. Go ahead and let the manager pump his chest out, he wants 7 times rollover. You can't honor an agreement, especially one in writing, I'm not going to be a customer in the future.

    An example of this is when my cc bill comes, it tells me the exact date the next payment is due and the time zone. It will specify both.

    I started with DSI with last year's BTP. They were fine at first but lately the level of service has been heading south. Nothing alarming in my situation just annoying, persistent calling and a lack of answers when I have questions about promotions, etc.

    the customer service wasnt fully sovereign, but i think he is right when he says that the time in his timezone matters. that has to be in the tc somewhere.

    While I understand the OP's frustration, it goes without saying that offers and expiration dates are based on the books time, not the zone where the player lives.

    It amazes me the OP states he doesn't have time to deal with this childishness to the book, yet feels the time making this thread was well spent.

    I swear, I am ready to leave SBR because all there is these days are crybaby threads. Wake up people, offshore changed! The days of demanding books bend down and kiss your feet are over..US players have limited choice and can't get away with demanding and receiving exceptions on every request.

    Clerk was clear in the chat, just make the request in 2 hours and it would be granted..yet OP demanded it be given immediately, I don't see where the clerk did anything wrong here.

    I think it's like anything: You need to use common sense. These books aren't based in the US and to assume that they've sent out offers tailored to each poster's timezone around the world is not feasible. Even normal retail stores don't do that. When I get something that says "all things 50% off starting Friday" and it's an American store, I don't assume they mean Friday my time when I'm 15hrs ahead of NYC.

    This could've been handled so much differently... "Oh ok, I didn't realise ... do you mind holding my deposit until 12:01 PST so I can get the bonus?" There's never an excuse to threaten a book with a chargeback in my opinion.

    lol you're right. They operate on DonBest/Vegas time but aren't in it. I remember seeing a thread about that from back in like '07 listing all the books that don't let you change your timezone and people wondering why some books use PST and not EST.

    Goat, you are saying they are bad for not giving you a small bonus when you have been a loyal customer.. But at the same time you are saying you are going to be a bigger scum for not getting the small bonus by calling ur c.c and chargebacking.... Thats not the way to handle it..

    But granted, I have to side with Goat on this one guys.. It's the books job to state all the Terms and Services and Rules.. So its the books job to use the common sense here and post all the time zones.. As stated the book really should've given him the bonus and let him know that it's PST timezone..

    I also don't consider this to be your typical "chargeback" situation. He'd didn't freeroll the book. The book is out nothing here.

    Personally, the book handled this in an awful manner. DSI incessantly call for deposits dangling various bonuses. Now they get a deposit and act like they are doing the OP a favor for taking his action. Pick a lane DSI...

Just tell customer that I can't enter the bonus right now due to system time restriction, but will ask manager to solve it tomorrow. Why couldn't CS say something just like that?

    That's how I see it.

    DSI lists everything in Pacific time, so it's clear that they operate according to that timezone.

    If something says a certain day, it's the day when it begins and ends in that time zone, not whatever other time zone you happen to be in.

    I assumed that's what she meant by saying "in 2hrs you'll be able to apply for the promotion". As in, contact us back when the system will allow us to apply it.

    She also offered him this:

    I don't know. If everything on a site is in PST and you've been playing with them as long as Goat said he was, it shouldn't be a big leap to assume that their promos are in PST also. I just think there are better ways to handle things than going off on a CS rep who doesn't make the rules. If you're upset, talk to someone higher up and see what they can do for you.
