Texas/Ohio St.
This may be the biggest mismatch of all the bowls. Even over USC/Penn St. I dont see how the Buckeyes can stay in with 20 points of the Longhorns. I'm gonna look for some good numbers @ + money. Maybe Longhorns -11 and so on. When the bowl matchups came out, most of us on here said USC and Texas were the easist picks for covering. I still feel that way. The # has dropped since it opened and I dont know why. Is there something I'm missing? Texas should do to Ohio St what USC did to Penn St. in the first half. Can someone give me a good reason to take the Buckeyes in this spot?

First off, Welcome to SBR
Ohio State does notoriously well in bowl games, especially this one. Ohio State has only been getting better throughout the year and I challenge you Panicky to compare each teams run/pass game. I have one thing more to say....Mr. McCoy....welcome to Big 12 Defense....
Ohio wins outright---yea I said it

oh no he didnt
but I leaning on taking the points +8 due to the line movement. other 2 RLM bowls I seen were Bama, TT and we know what happened there.
and i've been doing good betting agaisnt the side I like. I feel Texas should route OS so probally going with +8

ITH- lets look at those stats.
Texas allows only 18.3 pts/gm(and thats in a very explosive, offense dominant Big 12)
Ohio St allows 13.1
Texas on offense scores 43.9 pts/gm, while Ohio St averages 28.2. This right here is the big key. Look at the difference. Texas averages almost 480 yards in total offense per game. How is Ohio St gonna stop that. The only reason the Buckeyes have good #'s is because they have played poor offenses. Look what happened when they played USC, they got smoked by 32. Texas averages 299 yards in the air, Buckeyes give up 165. Something's gotta give here and my money says, Texas breaks it open.

Bills +6.5

I am taking the under. I have a feeling O. State will keep it close in the first half, and Texas will pull away and win by 17 before all is said and done. FINAL SCORE 34-17.

Michael! Brother...3 out of 4 @ the Fiesta and it's revenge time.
Route does not = +8 Horns up for me usually but I am still going with Ohio.
ALSO....The sentiment of EVERYONE here and elsewhere has been that Texas is going to kill them yet the line doesn't reflect. We have a 33/66 split on about 110000 wagers yet a .5 to 1 movement

The stats lie! their running back was injured and the QB was undecided!

You're out of your mind and even if Texas put up only 27, Ohio St. would put up 3. They play USC and stick 3 on the board. They play Penn St. and stick 6 on the board. They havent shown me they can score on the big boys. Pryor will help, but they are playing the #3 team in the nation and the Longhorns should roll.

the line started at 10 right, came down to 7, and now back at 8.
for the line to go from 10 to 7, dont you think theres some big money on Ohio State.

Texas does not want to be playing in this game and the Ohio St. QB is looking at this game as his chance to prove how he can do well against a good team. Ohio St. may have a motivation advantage. Texas thinks they should have been in the Big12 championship then the national championship.
Just like Alabama was not motivated to play Utah. However Ohio St. is not nearly as good as Utah offensively and Texas is just as good or better as Alabama since Alabama lost their best player.
I'm going to advise you guys to take the points if you play it at all. Personally, I'm going to wait until the 2nd half.

Dont tell me that Buckeye fans and backers are resting their hopes on a freshman kid to keep it close or possibly upset Texas. Pryor is good, but Texas is a machine that really should be playing for the National.

I'm saying that from a motivational standpoint, Ohio St has the edge. Which is big. I'm not saying they are a better team.

Thats a good post by that guy, but as much as he brings up those points, it can go both ways. He sounds as confident in his Buckeye play as I do in Texas. I just think this game is like USC/Penn St. If you read to much into and overanalyze, its going to fvck you up. Sometimes "kiss"(keep it simple stupid) works.

The big 12 teams everyone talked about all year what has happened to them in bowl games.
Okie St gets beat down when they play a team that a so so defense and good offense in oregon.
Texas Tech also catches a beating by a team with a good defense and good offense in ole miss
So what will happen to a Texas team with no defense when they take on a Ohio St team with a good defense and a offense that should have no problem moving the ball onTexas. The best defense Texas has face is Okie St not even in the same class as ohio st they just gave up 35 in the 2nd half to oregon. If thats not enough to take the 8 points with Ohio st I have 2 more reasons. The line starts out at Tex -10.5 they have 80% of the money on them and the line is now -8 in my betting world thats a red flag, vegas would love for all the squares to load up a little more on Texas. Last but not least, Texas thinks they should be in championship game not this one and we all seen what happened to Bama when they wanted to be in a different game. Ohio st has had to listen to how bad Texas is going to beat them for a month. I guess they will get their chance tomorrow. Take Ohio St getting more than a touchdown.

See this thing can go both ways. The best offense Ohio St has faced is USC and they got pummeled 35-3. Ohio St has never seen the likes of a big 12 offense. Texas can score and score quick. Ohio St has not proved they can stop a potent offense...once again look at USC(and that had nothing to do with Pryor since he doesnt play D).

I think Ohio State still put up like 250 yards at USC without their best player.

Texas probably the best big 12 team, they would have a better sot of beating Florida. Has to be frustrating not playing for the title.

Thats the only thing I'm hesitant on. Alot of people think they wont show up since they didnt get in the National. I'm hoping its the opposite. They show up and are pissed and want to kick the shit outta someone....with Mack Brown running up the score. If they do that and the National is close with OU winning, you will see all the Texas fans calling for a co National Champion(wont happen). But they'll have a case since they beat OU.

So stupid that Texas is not playing Florida, all because of a last second play by Texas Tech. They f'king beat Oklahoma, oh no, let's not get into this debate again.

Just imagine this scenario. Texas beats Ohio St 41-10. Oklahoma beats Florida 35-32. The final polls show OU #1 and Texas #2. How can they not make it a co National Champion? Texas beat OU. And here they are at the end holding the #1 and #2 spot. Texas can only make that case if they win big tonight.

Love that Utah story but you cant throw them ahead of Texas if Texas wins. You cant even throw them ahead of USC at this point.
