The contest was fixed because no poll has all these votes for tons of different people, you can sign up 25 times in like 30 minutes no confirmation required to get posting names.

jj, 15 hrs into this, there were about 20 guys (i wont mention any names) that had 0 to 1 vote only..now they have from high 20's to mid 30's in votes..lol.. 12 hrs into this contest, 7 posters pm'ed me to tell me if i can go pls vote for them cause they had 1 vote only..(their vote) now these same posters have 25+ votes..lol

tons of posters that had only 2 votes after 24 hrs, now have 28-36 votes.. 3 posters had 1 vote and 2 hrs later had 25 votes..

there are 4 posters i know of that had 2 votes at noon yesterday, and by 7 pm, they had over 25 votes.. lol


I love it.. it's actually cute.. i can't believe posters would go through all that work to just have more votes. i know off hand 12 posters who i can put my whole mortgage, and life savings that have cheated.. i won't mention who, but we know, jj.. jj, my hand to god, i did NOT cheat at all. my votes were legitimate, not even 1 vote of mine was cheated.. and i'm sure so were yours..

i just want to say that of my 27 votes of you actual posters that voted for me,, i really wanna say thank you and i appreciate it, cause i swear to god, i did NOT create any fake accts..

is there a way willie bee can figure out how many new accts have been created at sbr in the last 36 hrs.. i will bet record #'s of sign ups..

We'll try the method of only counting voters who have at least 500 posts for the final round.

I think most people are enjoying this and most of the top posters are the right ones.

I'm going to see my experiment through to the end because I did this on another board a couple of years ago and it was a similar result, lots of attention and discussion, apparent cheating but tons of fun. I didn't get the format totally right that time and I wanted to try it again.

I just want to finish my experiment, feel free to ignore it if you want to.

This round has been marred by cheating but we'll try to take care of that in the next round by using the 500 post minimum for voters.

What you just described reminds me of the Nasdaq bubble that happened several years ago. I remember some of the stock names "lifeminders.com" was like $100/share. I went to the website and it was a service that would send you emails to remind you of important events in your life. That company was valued at about $100/share during the bubble. The website even looked like absolute crap. The stocks were run like that with absolutely no company behind the stocks, it was unreal and just like what you described in your post.

Live and learn. We'll see if we can take care of the cheating in the next round and if there's no way to stop the cheating then I'll never try this again.
