Default gonna buy a new car any advice?

Gonna buy a maxima/altima or Grand Prix...

I need a new 4 door sedan, with some balls. Gonna go as soon as the Iowa game is over and I get paid by the bookie. Any Advice, never bought a new car or even a used car from a dealership...

Bet 10k (all my bank roll on iowa -2.5) So figure getting a new car with a nice downpayment should be pretty ****ing easy.

I just went with my friend to get his Altima.

He did Autobytel (I think) and got a great deal on a lease.

Buy Audi, Mercedes or BMW. The cars you are considering are junk.

I think VD needs to focus on his spot betting philosophy picks more than picking the whole board.

5 games I like personally are

Iowa -3
Georgia -7
Bama -10
Ohio St +8.5
OU +3

There are many games that I would consider gifts with 6pt and 7 pt teasers. But players get into trouble etc this time of year, so you gotta be careful with your bets. I would wait until week of, unless your that worried about line movement, but most have moved if they were going to already.

buy something that is a 2007-2008, let someone else eat the depreciation and get an extended warranty. Don't buy the first year of a redesign, it is junk I don't care what model it is. Check carfax and recent recalls.

Yeah I plan on picking up a 2005ish car maybe newer if the deal is right. I plan on keeping this car for 6-10 years so I don't mind it as long as its a reasonable payment. I want to leave the loan on my history for a bit then pay it off... If the bank was open I would go in there with 15k cash and see what happens.

I also don't mind taking 2002 stuff with like 80k or lower miles. but I know what I want.

I live in iowa so
-heated seats
- leather (easier to clean maintain)
- good highway driver
- 4 door
- decent radio for long drives I occasionally have to do.

I can't get an accord the local dealership is owned by some kids dad my sister dumped and cheated on for like 2 years in high school, needless to say they still hold the grudge.

If a Maxima is on your list, thats what I would get. I had one and put 230,000 miles on it and never had trouble, People think that BMW, Mercedes ect.. Is the way to go, but Nissan is a great company and dependable.

Looks like this guy's persona on here is unraveling. Hey PC, how about getting a Ford Crown Vic from the late 90's? Great price, and with the gas tank located between the rear axle and the bumper, if someone rear end's you the car might just explode.

BMW Lexus would tie up alot of my funds/credit etc... I don't believe in dropping 30k on a car. Generally I don't buy a car over 10k...but today I'm feeling good. So i put my limit at 15k which is the cash I have saved now for this. Kinda pissed though....15k cash is hard to just move to a bank account...

going to shop around tomorrow for sure though.

ps

engaged so I don't need a car to get pussy. I just want a good car. Toyota's are nice but the new cars they aren't really dealing... Nothing used is looking good in my area atm either.

Its okay to hate me. But my plays were posted over a week in advance, not my fault you guys can't win money.

FlyingILL, we going to have to bet in football again next year. Maybe I'll win this time around

my 10k was over various bets for the day. It wasn't all on Iowa, but it was obvious after Iowa won I was going to cash it. I don't think anyone in there right mind took Penn St and that even includes JoePa

Don't know if you bought your car yet, congrats on the good day that gave you the cash to buy the car though.

If you don't drive some ridiculous number of miles I would get a car that is perceived as being a "big" car. Any car that is viewed as a "big" car had its value hammered when the gas crisis hit. You should be able to get a very good deal on a really nice car. I like Mercury Marquis/Ford Crown Vic and Lincoln Town Car.

I bought a new Ford Crown Vic a few years ago and got a $6,000 rebate on a $23,000 car. LOL

So, new cars can be a bargain if the factory wants to get rid of it.

I wouldn't put the cash in the bank.

I wouldn't worry about taking cash into the car dealer. Just don't take it all at once. Depost $2800 in the bank. Take $2700 in cash to the dealer to give as a deposit. Then come back in 8 days and pay $2653 plus write a check for the $2800 and ask them to take a note for the balance for like 90 days, payable in 3 payments, then pay the payments at the dealership in cash.

Don't buy any Ford, GM or Chrysler cars. When they go out of business later this year your warranties will not be honored.

Yeah I like Nisssan Maxima/Altima. I'm also looking into accords/camries...

From what I've seen I'm prob just gonna buy something for about 8k something listed at 10k. I'm not a big fan of dropping alot of money into cars they just break down and lose value anyways... Buying a car is worse than betting...at least you have a chance to win money.

atm my list includes
06 impala
06 g6
03 fully loaded Maxima
05 altima
