Default Who has a cure for "the lazies?"

I took a break from betting for most of June, only working the last 5 days or so. Now it seems like I can't get myself going every day. Instead of getting down to it (comparing lines or studying research or doing accounting), I procrastinate and rationalize. I go for aimless bike rides. I come here and post lame topics like this.

I generally have good work habits but right now I have an advanced case of the lazies.

What about electroshock? Anyone here have any experience with electroshock they would like to share?

Just think about all the money you're missing out on.

Maybe your insides are telling you that you have enough money for now and can afford more months of diligent indolence.

I feel what you are saying Mudcat. I know a lot of guys who are doing well still with baseball, but when you aren't making much (as is my case), easy to just pass on betting sessions and wait for football. Maybe try to figure out your best sessions each week and then shoot to work at least those. Slowly get back into it.

I'm with bookie on this one. If you're in a position to not worry about money too much, and you're in the mood for other things, go with the other things. That's the good life.

I love taking a break each year. Mine is from half April until half June. The real new year doesn't start until August, so I use the WNBA as warm up. Not too many games, nice way to ease back into things and good opportunity to sharpen some skills. A few things I picked up during last year's WNBA carried straight over to the NFL and NBA. And did I mention the soft lines?

I completely agree. When I feel lazy, I follow this regimen strictly:

Take a nap and watch some TV. Then have a little snack. Then hit the hay early tonight. Get plenty of rest. Tomorrow, start drinking in the morning. Once you have a schedule worked out along those lines it can become your new benchmark.

Before you know it, you'll start working on a novel.

just getting back into things myself, but it didn't take much to get me excited about what was right around the corner. I took my break, enjoyed the last 3 months of spring/summer with no internet access. I was a little slow at first too, but one day I realized fb season was coming up so fast and got shit movin'. Have some coffee or an energy drink while you work and hold on!

Awhile back I counted the # of days I didn't wager in 2005 and I think it was 12. Most of them I was out of town visiting in laws or there weren't any games like MLB all star break. I like to stay in the routine and that makes it easier for the next day.

I totally agree with bookie. May I suggest that you wire ALL your money to me and when it comes to about 2-weeks before you need to pay the mortgage (and all your other bills), that feeling you'll get in the pit of your stomach should give you more than enough energy to clobber them books once again.

Here's hoping you get that spirit back Mudcat!
