Default Is this a record year for book failures ?

I know it's only half over, but it seems to be heading that way !

I guess you have different ways to measure it...number of books, total dollars stolen, etc.

What are the biggest ones in history ? ( Aces gold ? )

You gotta think there will be more too.

Maybe should make a list of just how many have tanked so far ?

that would be rather interesting if somebody did track the failed books this year doug.

i'm just wondering how many more will go down before the end of the year though. i know we still have roughly two months before football really starts up again.

then you'd also have to go back at least 5 years for it to have any meaning. It would be an interesting chart to see, esp. if you could get amounts, and bail-out info. The last item probably almost impossible to get.

Probably not. It just seems that way since a certain promoter has been pushing so many places that he shouldn't.

I'm sure many books of such low caliber go down every year, we just never heard about it in the past.

That's why a dollar measure is more valid than a sheer quantity measure.

Even in dollars, some of these dumps have more money in them because they were pushed by a certain promoter. If No Juice's liabilities are $300,000, what do you think they would have been if they had never been promoted by TOW?

certainly less ! One needs a niche to gain entry into this business. They are filled already. To take on Pinny ( the low juice model Nojuice tried ) you need big coin, not too many Mansion type backed books exist.

TOW program seemed to put the focus on a lot of these books and the clients this exposure brought wasn't the best. With information flowing so easily, unless you hit and left right away, was tough to tell when they would go down, besides the concept that they all would go down eventually due to questionable business model. But books like Beverly Hills Book and BCN showed a book could largely fail and still not stiff anyone. Not the case with the current crop.

As a bit of an aside, I'm planning to compile likelihoods, based on past data, of a book of a given rating and age (if available) failing over several different time horizons.
