Default I'm sorry but Herb Brooks doesn't belong in the Hockey Hall of Fame.

I believe he is getting too much credit for one big moment (the Miracle on Ice) and the HOF should be more about a career. His NHL career was very ordinary (.499 winning percentage, only 507 games coached, never made it past the second round of the playoffs).

He had some success in US College hockey but that was back before that became a competetive league.

It's sad that he died in a car crash. I get the sentimental side of the story.

    But my position remains.

mudcat, if anyone deserves a HOF induction it's dino cicerelli.

this guy scores over 600 goals, and doesn't even make it in there.

    F herb brooks
ask him what he did in the NHL behind the bench.
I think Isiah Thomas has a better career record.
That said, god bless um in 1980 and all and condolenses to his family....
But he's about as hockey HOF worthy as ron dugay or john ogrodnick - and I mean that with all due respect.

He deserves it a lot more than Dick Duff, that's for sure. Mr. Duff seems like a very nice old guy - I'm happy for him - but his induction seems more about nice old guys helping out other nice old guys than a legitimate thing that was earned.
