I know this book has had its fair share of payment problems in the past but I haven't heard anything negative in a while. What is the consensus now? Is this place safe? Will they pay in a decent timeframe?

Any and all opinions are appreciated.

They will not pay in an industry standard timeframe but they have been paying. I don't think I would ever be caught using the word "safe" with them in reference to a balance I might have there. Using their services should be at best described as, "a calculated risk". If you play there, you are hoping that their scheme does not bottom out while your funds are in their hands. Their SBR rating (C-) is accurate if not generous at this point in time.

I just did a little write-up on Royal the other day. Please note this is just my 2 cents as a player and is not an SBR endorsed position:

I have used Bet Royal at times. I have some money in there now but I went a long time without. My experiences have been mixed. I have had problems with slow pays, website performance (big time) and my on-line limits - but overall I have made good money there.

Royal stiffed Jenxy, voiding a confirmed bet on a good line after the event was over. That is very bad. They also routinely slow-pay which I consider a lesser form of stiffing since it means funds are tied up that I could be making money with. So for me, Royal is a calculated risk book (which, as I say, has paid off well so far). I would never recommend them for anyone else and I only devote a very small percentage of my bankroll to these high risk-vs-reward books.

I'm trying to remember when exactly Jenxy got hosed. Over a year ago anyway.

One thing I would add is that, if you deal with Royal and your account goes empty, you can expect regular calls from sales reps. Personally I like that but many people find it objectionable.

I deposited recently with BetRoyal and was paid on time via Neteller (in about 36 hours) once for $2,500 and another in the same week for $1,000. They seem to have improved. About 6 months ago it took them 3 days to process a payout.

The thing that you get with the Royal shills is that is if a poster comes to the boards during a stiff-job, they're a scammer trying to take a shot at the book through the forums. If they don't come to the boards then Royal are obviously doing a fantastic job because there are no complaints. Nice logic, that.
