    Default Comparable?

    Player X -- AL catcher, .392 ba, .538 slug, .458 obp, 5 hr, 37 rbi, 7 sb
    Player Y -- AL catcher, .250 ba, .403 slug, .337 obp, 7 hr, 36 rbi, 1 sb

Which player would you select to play for you in the All-Star Game?

I would even start Ivan Rodriguez and Victor Martinez over Jason Varitek. Maybe even Kenji Johjima in Seattle.

Well, you know who's going to start, right?

If they're going to make the game count for home field in The Series, the players that are selected by the fans at least shouldn't be the guaranteed starters. Let Ozzie pick Mauer and start him, leaving Tek's ass on the bench all game if need be while he goes for the win.

    Yeah, more and likely Varitek.

Having the fans pick the starters for something that counts for homefield in the world series is dumb.
