Not this year, but I plan on playing in the '07 series.

Love Stud 8/B Ricky. Am not good enough to play the series, but in a mixed game even at higher limits generally do pretty well.

Do they have a High Chicago event?

LOL Mudcat, they play a lot of games, but not that.Certainly have played that high and low in home games. For those that don't know, plot is split between the best hand and the highest spade card face down.

The lunatics I play cards with once-a-month get into some bizarre games. We have a game which has evolved over the years called San Francisco. It is Indicator Chicago (meaning last up card determines the suit of the Chicago and whether it is high or low) with murder on open pairs and a 7 of diamonds factor (don't ask).
No, I don't think I'll be playing in the WSOP anytime soon.

Played in a 1000 rebuy event two years ago (big mistake... don't play in rebuy events if you don't have a couple rebuys readywent from 1000 to 4000 in the first two hours (end of rebuy period) and was second smallest stack at my table because of a couple players with much, much deeper pockets then me were gambling it up)...
I was there last year but only played cash games...
I've signed up for event #29 (2500 PL HE) and I'm going to either register for #31 (2000 NL HE) or #36 (1500 NL HE Shootout)... If I do well in these two or get lucky on a cheap qualifier I'll probably play in the ME... (read probably won't play in main event)

Me and my wife will be there. She'll be playing the Ladies event. I'll be playing satelites and live games.

darkghost - Good luck to you and your wife.
LVHerbie - I hear you on the rebuys. Didn't one player rebuy like 23 times that year?
Mudcat, that sounds like a pretty cool game. I prefer low Chicago variations as it gives smaller cards a shot, but the indicator idea is a good one. Might try to incorporated that into a home game.

Sounds like D Negreanu - he's the king of rebuys.Originally Posted by lakerfan

Yea, that was the tourney I played in... Daniel Negreanu, Phil Ivey and third big name pro / big time gambler, who I can't remember right now, where all at the table gambling it up... That would have been a rough table to be at if you only had one buy in front of you....Originally Posted by lakerfan
Luckily I was a different table, not that it matter much...
Alot of people with deep pockets look at the rebuys as more way to getting/adding a bracelet, which they value more then the dime the rebuys cost, right or wrong...Daniel went on to finish third so I guess his 23 rebuys (or whatever) worked...
I was in the military at the time and just gotten back from Iraq... First time in Vegas and playing in a WSOP event were both awesome experiences... I just wish I would have picked a different tourney![]()

You might think about playing satelites online before you leave because you will get alot more play (read, better chance of winning) for your money... Then if you don't end up a with a seat you can always just focus on the cash games... (which were really, really juicy last year)... The super-satelites are basically crap shoots where if you play a super online you get way more chips and much longer blind periods (without having to sit through dealers trying to sort through continous short stack all-in battles every other hand)..Originally Posted by darkghost
Both Pokerstars and Fulltilt have big 100 seat gurantee tourneys that I think look good... Along with daily tourneys that every site has.... Then again on the other hand the play might be softer in Vegas too... Just some thoughts...
