Ricky Williams by a mile was the worst trade ever in the history of the NFL.

Ricky Williams? He lead the league in rushing for like his first three season on the Dolphins. What did they give up for him?

The Saints were the ones who traded for him, their whole '99 draft for him I think

    Ricky Willams was pretty bad...

tough to do NFL worst trades...so few trades and most are for draft picks..

I always thought the Steelers fleeced the Rams pretty good... Jerome Bettis for draft pick.

10,500+ yards and 75+ td's later, that trade looked pretty good

Minnesota MADE Dallas with the stupidity of the Herschell Walker trade, Dallas got a bunch of scrubs in return, but the draft picks made them into a dynasty

There's no question it's the Hershel Walker deal. Although - there was some fantastic draft picking done by Dallas to make it so.
Dallas did get some veteran players that they could cut at the end of the year - making it all about picks.

But - when it comes to stupidity, there's no doubt the Ricky Williams deal is right there. Not all collegiate backs make it in the NFL - to mortgage essentially 2 drafts for 1 unproven player is just flat out dumb.

Oh and this is a dumb question. Walker trade was definately the worst of all time.

Those draft picks translated into Erik Williams, Leon Lett, Larry Brown, Alvin Harper and others that enabled them to win 3 Super Bowls while Walker amounted to nothing and was cut soon after.

John Hadle QB to the Packers from the Rams.Hadle looked like a played out old man and played like one at that stage in his career. The Packers had a hideous record on trades in that era. They gave a number 1 choice to San Diego for a cornerback named Mosse Cade and within a couple weeks,he raped his cousin after a game in Green Bay and never played again after going to prison for it.Then they gave a big draft choice for a runningback named??????? who faked a sleeping sickness. He would fall asleep at team meetings and they tried getting rid of him but he won a grievance and they had to pay him a ton of money to get rid of him.
