A grudgingto the Carolina Hurricanes. Hmmm, that emoticon doesn't look very grudging. I would have liked the Cup to come back to Canada but the Canes are a solid, balanced team that is impossible for me not to respect.
:thumbs_up to Brian McCabe. He was offered a 5 year, 29 million deal with the Toronto Maple Leafs a couple weeks ago - but he still hasn't signed it. The reason? Although the deal is probably the best he could expect anywhere - many would say it is far more than he is worth - he is concerned about moving his wife, who suffers from depression, away from New York where all her family and support is.
Many Leafs fan would give McCabe a HUGE :thumbs_do for this situation. I am impressed that someone has some perspective that goes beyond, where is the most money?
:thumbs_up to the movie Kiss, Kiss, Bang, Bang. Good screenplay. Enjoyable viewing.
:thumbs_do to FIFA for not enacting my suggestions to make soccer better. All I have said is that they need less players on the field (maybe 7 per team), timeclocks, they should do away with the offside rule and move pack the Penalty kick spot. I gave them plenty of time to make these changes for the World Cup but no dice. :thumbs_do
