    Default OT - 6/19/2006 - 6/20/2006 Puzzle

Yesterday's answer was 'J'. Correct answers were given by isetcap at 3:54AM, and by tacomax at 7:46PM. A heartfelt and well-deserved congratulations to both.

    And now today:

Yesterday's answer explained: (highlight with mouse to view) Picture contained a set of letters in "Webdings" font. Translate into plain text font (using perhaps a word processor) and you're asked to complete the following sequence: G, E, L, N, D, ?. These are the first letters of the first five books of the Old Testament (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy). The next book is Joshua, so the answer is 'J'.

    That's it.

Considering no one's yet answered this perhaps a clue is in order.

Clue 1: (highlight with mouse to view) The graph ranges from +25 to -26. That's 26 numbers >= 0 and 26 numbers less than 0. Obviously, the number has special significance for english speakers.

Clue 2: (highlight with mouse to view) The title of the 'Tick-tick' referring to a clock. "Clock artithmetic" refers to the type of arithmetic one might do when adding togethr times. For example 10+4 = 2, or 3-4 = 11. If the clock base were instead 26, then -1 would refer to 25, -2 to 24, etc.
    Hope this helps.

It's kind of hard to see what #s they are, like -19 or -18, but I think I know how to solve it if I could get the exact #s. Like I'm thinking first dot is 21, then -19?

Well that's all part of the challenge -- try a few different numbers and just see what fits.

I don't think I'm doing it right, I got the same repeating letters, but it makes no sense, lol. Somebody should get it soon with your clues though.
