I need to learn Spanish. More and more disputes are coming in from non-English speakers, especially in Espanol. In my random law practice, there's a huge segment of unserviced people - the Spanish community. In 20 years, there will be more Spanish speakers in the US than English.
so I need to make the move. I gotta learn it. What are the best books/CDs/Courses/DVDs for it, if price doesn't matter? |

The business that I work for endorses Rosetta Stone. I have yet to try it, but I've heard wonderful things about it.

It wouldn't hurt for me to learn either. I might be interested in these materials as well.

Yes, immersion is best. However, for nightly practice at home, Rosetta Stone is pretty slick. You can download it easy from torrents probably. I used the Hindi one a few years ago. My Hindi sucks, but I can still get by.
Also, get a grammar book for reference. Get a flip book for English grammar too and make sure you got all the basics down -- so when you start in with Spanish grammar you don't have to sit there and be like WTF is going on? You just know it. I swear, once I learned Sanskrit my IQ raised -- it's just a matter of annihilating grammar. |

The easiest way to learn a language is to immerse yourself in it. I would try to speak, listen, read and write in it at any opportunity. This helps augment whatever class/learning method you are currently using.

Immersion is definitely the best, probably only way. Software can provide a good start though. I suggest Pimsleur instead of Rosetta Stone for Spanish.
