Default Who would you like to win the Super Bowl (betting and hometown allegiances aside)?

I was just giving this some thought. I don't have favorite teams. I grew up a Cowboys fan but that is long gone. If anything I find them one of the more annoying teams now.

I think I like Tampa Bay. Main reason: I like Jeff Garcia.

I'm not even sure why. His history in the CFL has something to do with it, I guess. But he's just really good. He's gutsy. I don't get why teams keep letting him go.

Despite the fact the Giants have been making me some good money lately, they're the Giants. Screw them.

I wouldn't mind a nice "Screw you," going out to the Eagles who stupidly let Garcia go. In my 35+ years of watching football, I have yet to find a reason to feel any love for the Eagles.

I admire Tennessee but I don't love to watch them. Same with Balt. Indy? Naw. Jets? Naw. Pitt? Naw. Zona? It would be an interesting story but naw.

And Tampa in general just seems like a good non-obnoxious team. Not a collection of individuals. Team.

So go Bucs!! (Until I find a good bet against them.)

My first pick would be Packers, to prove we can do it without Favre. But you said no hometown bias...

Then my next pick would be Favre & the Jets. What the heck. It would be quite a story. Unfortunately, we'd never hear the end of it here in Wisconsin. At least Favre didn't go to the Vikings. lol

Pats or Titans. Maybe Packers. Wouldn't mind seeing the Bucs do it though either, I'm also a Garcia fan.

Anyone but the Cowboys.

Of the teams in playoff contention, I'd like to see the Falcons win the SB. From having their coach quit on them a year ago, winning with a rookie QB and making a great free agent signing in Michael Turner, it would be quite a turnaround. But Atlanta sports fan in general are awful, so I guess they don't deserve a winner.

NFC: Giants or Cowboys.
AFC: Steelers.

I'd say those are the three best teams in football. After them the Titans and Ravens are pretty good.

The Giants. Perhaps, upon realizing that the Giants won back to back Super Bowls as soon as he left, Tiki Barber will "accidentally" shoot himself, too.

I kid.

Miami Dolphins. Let the team with the first draft pick win the SB so that can become a trend. Plus we won't have to hear about Dan Marino ever again. That Punk.

Yeah, I forgot about the Dolphins. Worst to First?! That would be a helluva story. Just making the post season would be major. I wonder how many times a 1-15 team turned around next season and went to the playoffs. I know the Jimmy Johnson Cowboys came close, but just missed at 8-8 that next year. Even if the Dolphins can go 9-7, we can put the garbage can lid on Jimmy Johnson as an all-time great coach. He coasts into the most assembled talent in NFL history with the Cowboys & the Hershel Walker fiasco, gets run outta town. Then he runs Shula out of town without improving the team and bails on them. In the day, I thought Jimmy Johnson was all that, but history has shown he's more talk than walk.

As for Dan Marino, I don't think we'll ever forget a player like that. The Steelers winning one a couple years ago didn't make us forget Bradshaw. So, I think Dan will be quite fine if the Dolphins can bring a trophy back to Miami. If anything, Dan might be able to make a gimmick joke like, where was Bill Parcells back when I was still playing?! lol Funny enough, I think Marino, even in his twilight years, might have been a perfect QB for Parcells.

Dan Marino owns team records, no league records of note, plus he did not win a super bowl, if the Dolphins win the Super Bowl this year, what would be the relevance of Dan the Man.

I like teams that play beyond expectation: Atlanta, Carolina.
Little respect for teams that underperform: Chargers.

If Arizona made it to the SB that would be great, but not going to happen.

Cool: Giants
Not cool: Dallas

This is a good case. I am sold (as a #2 choice behind Tampa).

I don't know enough about Atlanta fans for that to factor in.

This is also a good choice. I personally don't know enough about Tiki Barber to really hate him but I like the spiteful spirit!!

Colts, Steelers or NY Jets....I'd like to see Manning, Favre, or Big Ben get a shot at another ring.

As for the NFC, I am a Cowboys fan, but it would be nice to see a solid team such as the Giants go for it again against one of the three previous mentioned AFC teams....I think it would make for a good Bowl.
