    Default MLB Trivia - 6/14/06

Get your shovels out and start digging, boys...

What player hit the most career homers without ever hitting 20 or more in a single season?

    Totally wild guess: Luis Aparicio.

Nope, not Little Louie. Aparicio had 83 career dingers. The player I'm looking for had at least twice that many during his career, s not a Hall of Famer but was an All-Star.

I know Pete Rose hit somewhere around 150-160 and I'm pretty sure he never cracked 20...That's what I'm going with.

Rose hit 160 and never hit 20 or more...but he's not the answer. The player hit more than 160 and played from the late 50s to the late 70s.

Surely we have a winner here.

    Nice sig, Winston.

Ronald Ray Fairly it is. Good job, Winston

Fairly hit 215 homers over the course of his 21 big league seasons, reaching a personal best of 19 in 1977 for the brand-spankin' new Toronto Blue Jays.
