I worked with a guy who died of AIDS. I thought he was just losing weight. I went on vacation and he was dead by the time I got back.

I recently went through a period of concern I might have HIV.

I had sex with a (female) partner for a length of time and we were somewhat safe but not 100%. She seemed normal on the surface but over time, I got to know the real her. She was hiding some issues - and doing an effective job of it. Through various means, I figured out that she was a pathological liar, and also prone to drunken binges during which she is extremely promiscuous and not safe about it.

Then she started getting very sick, losing weight, wasting away. She gave me reasons to explain it but remember, she is a pathological liar so I didn't know if I could believe her.

Long story short, I was seriously concerned this batty bitch might have given me HIV.

I went through the testing - and I am fine - but it is a sh1tty experience. The stuff that goes through your head. You start questioning every little physical problem. Is that a blotch on my arm? Why is that there? Holy sh1t, it's a lesion starting up - I really do have it!

As for World AIDS Day, a little more awareness does not seem like a bad idea, particularly after reading this thread.

My sister works for a large non-profit that has as its main focus AIDS research. She is always trying to heighten my and others awareness of AIDS.

However, I am still not alarmed or afraid of AIDS... Super AIDS though is another issue...

i always thought aids scare is a desperate ploy by gays to get hetros to fix their disease.

it still has not been proven to be trasmitted via hetrosexual contact. and dont start showing me some gay report saying it does.
