The oldest stuff I have are a few comic books of the Amazing Spider Man. I have like 8 of the first 20, guess they could be worth a few thousand if someone was willing to pay for them.

I have not found an antique or item that is worth thousands of dollars, but I have bought some items for next to nothing and made some nice profits.

A few items I can think of are following:

I bought a box of books at an auction for $1. One of the books (a Barbie collector book) sold for $125.00.

I bought two pieces of camera equipment at a garage sale for $3 and they both sold for a combined $500.

I bought a Marantz audio receiver from the 1970's for $40 and sold it for $600. If you ever see one of the old Marantz stereos, you can't lose money if you spend even $100 to buy it. Collectors love those old systems.

The biggest purchase I made a big profit was on a purchase of some Star Wars posters at an auction. I looked into a cardboard box that was opened that day by the auctioneer. There were 75 Star Wars posters from a Proctor and Gamble promotion that were dated from 1978 and never displayed.

I bought all 75 posters for $17. I have made over $1,000 on the sale of these posters.

I have many more finds at auctions and garage sales. These are some of the biggest.
