Cheap = Excalibur

Medium = Luxor

Best = THE HOTEL at Mandalay Bay (All suites, or as JJ would say, suits.)

Just my opinion obviously.

You'd have to jockey in beside Buddy Bear.

Stayed at THE HOTEL....REALLY nice...a little pricey but not bad considering what you get and how nice it is.

But it all depends on how much you want to spend......

That's why I gave him three options.

I give up.

Rates are down...the Wynn offered my wife and I a free weekend

Should be able to stay anywhere you like for a decent price

I prefer to stay at the Orleans, just off the Strip. Nice sports/race book, good poker room, cheap rooms, nice people. If you are adamant about the strip, the LV Hilton has the best book, and I've always liked Paris and Flamingo.

Best non-Bellagio MGM hotels would be Mirage (middle/north end of strip) or Mandalay Bay (south strip). So it just depends where you want to stay on the strip. If you are going primarily to be betting on sports than north end of strip is better, since only hotels near Mandalay are Tropicana and other MGM hotels (less choice in odds).
