Default People That Enter Contests Are Flat Broke

    Sad

If you need $25 that bad why are you gambling??

Do you bet with your grocery money too?

This is very sad what compulsive gambling has done to some here.

I truly feel sorry for you, there are more things to gambling on sports.

Dearie me. You're a fine one to criticise others for compulsive gambling and betting their grocery money. Nearly as sad as begging for grocery money on a website, isn't it?

Some people are just starting out...$25, $50, $100 helps a lot when you are just starting out and building a bankroll. Nothing wrong with that.

taxy I am the top poster in the world because of my honesty, I make it all public. Where did I say I am not broke??? Taxy I am a pro here so use your words carefully.

You do not see me in contests begging for $25

Because, believe it or not, it might be a bit of fun entering a contest.

Personally I'd rather spend a bit of time entering a contest rather than making 40+ irrelvant posts on a gambling forum. But that's just me.

JJ - correct me if I'm wrong, but by your own statement you said you lose money betting - how is it that you are a pro? Or do you just mean in terms of knowledge you are a "pro"?

So instead of using the knowledge you have which makes you the self-proclaimed "top poster in the world" to win contests hands-down, you just beg money off people?

Taxy I will take your argument guys doing it for fun into consideration

Asking people for cash is different than entering contests as I needed cash to fund sportsbooks and pay off banks and plus its an investment in me for the future.

I am a Pro that is on a bad streak, all the pros have had losing years at one time or another.

    I will be back

whatever, the only thing JJ can pick consistanly is his nose.

The reason he says contest contestants are broke is to set up a reason not to enter, hence no one can see just how bad he is at picking the games.

jj I can understand how, when things are going badly, the instinct can be to try to drag someone else down lower and shit on them. But you're surrounded by bright people here who are willing and able to help you.

A brisk head-shake and a complete re-evaluation of everything is called for.

    JJ,

I have nothing against you, but your level of arrogance and lack of humility is reaching all time highs and is starting to get on many people's nerves. Some of your posts have been outright stupid lately and all this "top poster in the world" crap makes me want to puke. Labeling oneself a pro? C'mon! Quit all the judging and generalizations and quit all the arrogance and stupidity because its getting sickening and I'm not the only person here that thinks that. You're a dedicated member of this forum, but lately you've been dragging it down and that pisses me off. Just my two cents...

JJ - I think most people who play $25 contest aren't doing it for the money... look at all the office pools and ncaa brackets... I think most people who do this are just playing for the action, and gives many a reason to watch a game... same reason people buy those damn scratch tickets at the grocery store... I saw my parents jump all over brackets, pools, and contests just as they would buy a couple damn lottery tickets everyweek (biggest scam in the world)... just another cheap form of entertainment that didn't affect their ability to put food on the table...

I'm not flat broke. I'm doing it for fun and to stay interested in the games. Heck if it keeps up with the Prick, it might be a good nest egg for NBA/NHL season.

JJ I'm not bashing you, but we have alot of posters who play in these contests, so if anything you are bashing them. Are you saying that 1/3 of SBR posters are broke losers? Your thread title certainly says so.

JJ some of your post are right on the money but this one is not... Let me get this straight... You admit to compulsive gambling at one point in your life... and then you go after those who enter free/cheap contest... My head is spinning... I can not continue...

Some contests pay much more than $25, Skybook has one worth $20,000 Monday (Rx). The prick contest is fairly easy shot at $100. It doesn't hurt to try !

Some contests are wat too hard, or only pay $25, though !

One of the best matchups in this place is JJ v. Oldetyme. The classic "son" post from out of nowhere when oldeyme joined the forum makes one believe these two have crossed paths before. Entertaining thread

Going on tilt is very possible by any gambler and is your last bet going to lkead to disaster like me?

I need money help and I am asking every poster here if they can give me a $100 donation and up to Pay Pal or Westen Union just so I can pay my day to day bills and I will not use it for gambling.

You guys owe me something anyway as I am a good guy but very depressed right now.

    Thanks

Man, JJ, I am not sure what to make of this when I saw that thread. I mean here you are crticizing touts and then asking "strangers" for money. This is almost tout like. At least touts give you a pick in return. I mean I really think you need some counsiling. I do this for fun...i mean I'll be honest I bet $75 a game just for recreation...have a little fun while i am in college and if i can make some money then so be it. If i lose a little then it's okay too b/c i had some fun (although I prefer the former).

I guess all I can say is too maybe check out the GA website and see if there is a local branch near your place. I mean it couldn't hurt to go to a meeting and talk to somebody. I mean the guys in here who are doing this for a living have a grasp on money management and I am not sure you do yet.

Good luck and find a GA near you JJ.

Buddy I have been in GA and really do not belong there after listening to stories as I do not fit the category. I went to a DR also about my gambling and he ran tests and said I did not have a problem or a compulsive disorder.

Yes I have lost and been down and out but I do not have a problem

    I have it under control

    Good Luck

JJ- Nice to see that you have things under control and very nice play on SD. If you are still in need of that $100 send me your Neteller account and I won't even add this to your tab.

JJGold makes some solid points as usual. Contests are great and a lot of fun but sometimes it gets in the way of your real bets just as fantasy football does.

I've seen guys with Peyton Manning on their fantasy footabll team and they will play Indy every week no matter what the line.

I've also seen guys in contests that are affected by their picks. I'm not sure how the beat the Prick contest works but say the Prick took Den today and you needed him to lose in order to beat him. Many posters will play KC blindly.

JJGold's posts are very deep and sometimes you have to mull it over for a day or so before it sinks in.
