    Default Spread Betting Joints

Any of you guys do this spread betting? I was thinking of getting into it. Looking throught the Rating Guide the only one I see is Sportingindex which gets a B-. Why not higher? Its regulated by the government I believe. Anyway, I don't even see B- as too bad really to prevent me from doing business but would much prefer a bit higher.

But nothing on Cantorspreadfair and nothing on Spreadex?

It's not regulated by the Government per se, it's regulated by the Financial Services Authority which was a body set up by the UK Government to maintain protection for consumers in financial products. I'm not being overly pedantic but it's an important difference.

Sportingindex are a pretty top-notch outfit. I'm sure that their lower rating is largely due to the fact that they are laregly geared to the UK/European markets although I'm sure that Bill can come by and give us the true story.

I have A/C's with the below UK SpreadFirms...

Sporting Index are fine but will jump on you quick if you go for arbs

SpreadEx are good, friendly service + as from 10 days ago you can at last trade online (Was a real pain phoning all the time)

CantorSpreadFair is owned by Cantor Index. Good prices but the comm can take a nasty bite out of your winnings

One you have not mentioned & is my personal favourite...

IG Index - Not afraid to stand a decent sized bet + I like their betting interface.

All of the above are regulated by the FSA which means your cash is as near 100% safe as you can get
