Its because a lot of people claim they are going to "kill themselves" so they can get people to feel sorry for them and for attention. People get tired others being dramatic and acting like this and then the 1% of the population actually kills themselves and everyone looks like a douche bag.

You know, I may sound like an @sshole here, but I cant feel sorry for a guy like this. Reading his note....I mean cmon....how many people in the world, hell how many people on here have felt that they've let their parents down? Been mean to people in their lives? Feel like a failure at times? But guess what, we still get up in the morning, go to work(or school...or whatever) and we try to make the best of our own personal situation. The guy thinks he had it hard...take a look at the kids who are stricken with terminal cancer...what did they do to deserve such a cruel and painful way to go? Look at 3rd world countries, poverty, war, illness, the list goes on and on. We all have problems and the best we can do is pick ourselves up and carry on the best we can. Taking your own life seems like the cowards way out. Look at what he did to his family. They are now gonna be devastated for the rest of their lives.

Not to sound morbid/suicidal, but this is the main reason I don't consider ending things myself. I often feel like I have no place in this world and I'm never going to make it.

But my mother, father, brother, girlfriend, all of my good friends, no matter how much of a fvck-up I may be, they all love me, and taking my life would devastate all of them.

He had lexapro, one of the best anti-depressants available... so he probably did have meds and receive some form of help... it doesn't cure everyone though...

Dave, there isnt a person on this board who hasnt felt the pressures of life. Maybe some more than others, but nonetheless, we have all been there...done that. The minute you think it would be better to end it...is the time to dig deep within yourself and tell death to go fvck itself. We only go once on this merry go round and its a quick one. I'll be damned if I'm gotta cut the ride short. I dont care how bad it is. As long as my eyes open in the morning, I know I still got a shot.
