What percent of people that gamble through online books, frequent forums like SBR? Thoughts?

Worldwide or USA?
Worldwide = 0.0000000000000000000000001% And that could be a stretch. USA, I wouldn't have a clue but would be interested to know if there were such a stat. |

I'd say very low. I've been betting online since 1997 but hadn't visited a forum until this year-- didn't even know they existed. There is so much garbage on the internet related to gambling (tout sites, etc) that a random person isn't that likely to just stumble across SBR (or others).. I don't know.. I'm just guessing here. Obviously a sample size of one is pretty small.

In North America, my best guess would be 2-3%, if that.

I highly doubt it's even close to 1%.

My honest answer is, I have no idea. I would also be curious.
I think it must be a small percentage. That's the only way I can explain books like BetUS and Sportsbook.com getting such huge customer bases. People just aren't informed.

I found SBR due to sportsbook.com actually.

Agree with everyone else, it's low.
Based on my OWN experience, I doubt most people even REALIZE there's such a forum as this. I had no idea, until one day when I needed help on a college hoops game, I Googled the match-up, and this site popped up!! ![]()

Not enough, which allows scambooks and scamming pick-sellers to reel in lots of easy marks.

Ive always wondered why on earth people would deposit with a book before checking for a site such as SBR first.

because they dont realize they're all offshore and often shady as hell

I would guess the number is low. I have been playing offshore since the early 90's when I started with Bowmans, and it wasn't until this year that I found this site.
I got completely stupid lucky when I found it. I was looking for alternatives to Bodog after they imploded, and found SBR. Now, I friggin live on this site. Weird how that works out. |

Look at how books spread out their advertising. Betonsports used to advertise on a local radio station in Ottawa, where I live. There were no "forums" advertising alongside them. Most will find the book before they find the forums.
