I was in Atlantic City about 10 years ago. I had taken about $2000 with me and proceeded to turn it into $10,300 on one spin of the roulette wheel. I cannot remember exactly how I layed out the money, but the main component was 33 (Larry Bird's number). After I had won, I called my then gfriend in NYC to tell her the good news, and to get dressed up for Sunday Brunch because that's what we were going to do with part of the winnings ( I had won the money Saturday at about 3AM). After getting off the phone and cashing out. I walked to another roulette table and saw 2 VERY attractive girls sitting alone. I decided to l ook like a big shot and began to bet $500-$1000 a spin. Suffice to say the girls were not impressed and I lost ALL but $30 of my money in about 3 hours. When I FINALLY got back into NYC. I went to the Gfriends apt. She was all decked out and ready to go. When she saw the look on my face, she knew I had lost it. The look on her face was a bad as the loss I took in AC. I then lost $7200 in football that Sunday afternoon making my day not so enjoyable. To make a long story short, I will NEVER tell a gfriend how much I have won/lost unless I hand it to her and say "Here, enjoy". Don't need the added stress again..lol.

Casper that had to hurt.....unreal I can't believe that you lost all of that money. Well at least you know now that no matter how much money you bet with, you will not look like a big shot. Girls will always just think, this guy is a bigger Degen than the next and nothing more.

I would not tell my gf, and when she wonders where my money is coming from i would say i was grinding out sports and doing okay... girlfriends don't understand the ups and downs involved with sportsbetting so any loses i take after a big score would make me feel like a failure, and letting her down or something. but this would never occur like this because i rarely do parlays.
