Default New Better Looking for Tips

Hey everyone,

I'm brand new here and it's been about two weeks since I started betting on hockey. I've followed hockey my entire life, so I figured it'd be a good place to start, and so far, I'm up $20 (I know, big deal right! haha )

I am really eager to do some reading on betting strategies (particularly for hockey/sports), but the Internet is saturated with so much crap that isn't for real or costs money to get access to that I don't really know where to go. Thankfully I found this website and it seems like a great place to get started. Are there any legitimate websites out there for newbies like me?

Thanks a lot everybody,
Dave

Tip number one: it's bettor.

Other than that, I've got nothing to offer you in the current season. My two sports are CBB and MLB. Still messing around with football.

Edit: A general tip... learn to manage your money and learn that fast. DO NOT become one of these posters who chases/puts it all on any bet. That'll kill you faster than anything.

Tip #3: Get out while you can. Find another hobby before you get sucked in and end up pawning everythng.
Tip#4: Do the opposite of jjgold.

MONEY MANAGEMENT...if your placing 20 on your wagers than I am assuming you have at least 500?

Haha, thanks Slick... I've been reading the forum and I've seen a couple of his videos being posted around.

To address some of the other comments, I'm doing it purely out of recreation. I watch a lot of hockey, so if I end up throwing in some money to make the games more entertaining per say, I can live with that.

@ InTheHole - I'm not placing $20 bets... I've been placing $5-10 until I get the hang of it.

@ bill - Oh boy, that's embarrassing! But thanks for the tip!
