Are they closing down completely or just to U.S. customers?

I have account at VIP, but stopped playing when they banned me from reload bonuses & loyalty cash after cashing out for 100 G's. So I'm not sad to see them go, as DSI & Bookmaker are much better. Their departure is confirmed in my chat below:

You are now chatting with 'Philip'

Philip: Thank you for contacting us at VIP.com. How may I help you?
my008859: rumor has it VIP will be shut down at the end of this month due to payment problems. Any truth to this rumor?
    Philip: Yes.
    my008859: :-(
Philip: Unfortunately due to industry and money processing constraints, we have decided to close the company at the end of this month. All players with balances that meet the minimum payout requirement are welcome to submit withdrawal requests online from now until the end of this month, or continue to play their balances until the end of this month.
my008859: nine & gameday as well?
    Philip: Yes, as well
my008859: what is the minimum payout requirement?
    Philip: Minimum payout is $260
my008859: do you accept deposits until a certain date?
Philip: There are no deposit options available.
    my008859: :-(
    Philip: It is unfortunate.
my008859: When were you going to notify players? I didn't receive an e-mail from VIP about this closing.
Philip: We are notifying players as from today.
my008859: where will you work, can you collect unemployment insurance where you live?
Philip: Is there anything else I can help you with?
    my008859: apparently not
    Philip: Have a nice day
    Philip: Bye.
Chat session has been terminated by the site operator.

People will eventually become more outraged on a daily basis when the people in the world continue to lose more and more rights in almost every country, especially here in the U.S.

Sad day for me personally. I worked there a few years ago. Great people. Management were incredible. Treated me incredibly well. Made some great friends. They used to be the biggest employer in Curacao.

Another book without a half-competent line manager fails, no loss ^^
I was shown the door after betting 2 slow moving nba lines for a lousy $500 each, joke book.

In time offshore books will be fewer than fewer. If Greek or Bookmaker ever close than you know the end is here.I reccommend you get a trust worthy local.

Jeez. Sad times, indeed. Good to see them close down honestly, though, not just run with the $$.

It was obvious this was gonna happen when they shut down all US Customers... obviously can't compete with the European books. Gonna miss the 100% bonus but there lines were ehhhhh

Agreed. I guess they just rode what they had as far as they could. These guys got going in the mid 90's. They were true industry pioneers. Happy retirement!

    yep

VIP remains to this day as the only book to ever actually boot me out as opposed to reducing my limits to virtually nothing.

Maybe they would have done a little better if they accepted Canadians.. I asked them a few months ago why they didn't and they claimed that it was because it's "illegal" to gamble online in Canada and the US. Way to lump us in with those guys!
