AGREE or DISAGREE with the Joe Theismann rant

Former Toronto Argonaut Joe Theismann has taken a strong stance against the Argos recent signing of Ricky Williams who has multiple suspensions in the NFL for drug use.

Some quotes:

"This is a feeble excuse for the Toronto Argonauts to sell tickets," Theismann told Toronto's Fan 590 radio station. "I am embarrassed to have worn that 'A' on my helmet, to think that they would stoop to this level to sell tickets, to bring in someone who is not worthy of playing professional football."

"He has insulted professional football players, he has insulted professional football, he has been suspended from the National Football League, he doesn't want to play. He's going to a place where his value will be limited,"

"All that said, Ricky is not a bad kid - he's just done bad things to a sport that I love. And it's a damn shame that the Toronto Argonauts would not show a lot more class and pass on somebody who has been a repeat drug offender. To me, it's an insult to guys who put on the uniform."

"I don't ever want to be mentioned in the same breath as Ricky Williams as a football player. He's a disgrace to the game. The man doesn't deserve to play football."

I disagree and think Theismann is a big pantload.

I have to back Theismann in this case. Ricky Williams should not be playing football. I guess they don't drug test in the CFL?

What it really says is how desperate Williams is at this point. He's ruined his career and likely will never play again in the NFL because he can't stay clean.

Joe an ass and is the worst football announcer that has every lived. Joe forgets about his past Redskin teammates that have done way worst then Ricky the name Dexter Manley comes to mind. Thank God for LT

I usually hit the MUTE button on the remote when I hear him and the ESPN crew doing a game. Ricky's a piece of work, and Theismann has a right to his opinion. But if he cares so much about what happens in the CFL, maybe Theismann should take his money and go invest in the league or a franchise.
