Thumbs up Toronto is a much better city than Montreal

They have more sports teams, the people are friendlier, and overall a much better city than that crime infested city of Montreal.

Dan, no reason to state the obvious. But somehow I doubt Nicky will agree.

Next thing your going to tell us is Detroit is a rat infested sewer.

Nothing beats Montreal in Canada. Not Toronto, not Vancouver. The ladies, the restaurants, the atmosphere.

Who was mean to you in MTL, bbd?

Toronto is just like any other big city in the U.S.

Nah, per capita the murder rate is nothing like big US cities.

We average 85+ murders a year, with a city population of over 2 million (not including suburbs), no American city anywhere near that size can compare.

Montreal could have been a great city, but Quebec politics ruined it.
Montreal and Quebec leech off of the rest of Canada, they have for years and will continue to do so, they are the spoiled brats of our country.

Are you kidding sir. I think Detroit is a great city. Lots of stuff to do in there. However, Montreal is a total slum.

Nicky

Will be in Montreal late December/early January. Let's go to Schwartz's and get some cole cuts, then head down to Super Sexe.

and btw, mathy hates the mtl canadiens, and still agrees with me..

bbd, you are nothing but an instigator.. i know you are trying to rile me up..

also, downtown is alive 24/7, even at 4 am.. unlike TOR where it is dead at 1 am.. bars are packed at this time and restaurants, too.. and best restaurants in North America, too..

Toronto has the same feel as any big US city, I mean. Okay, fewer slums, lower crime rate, but same feel. Same shit to do, nothing special about it. Never had any less than a great time in MTL

montreal is a city where a pretty 10 can walk alone at 4 am and be 100% safe. that dont exist in the USA.. it's clean and safe as hell..

danny, i am going to ignore you now.. i know you are only trying to bug me..

Nicky, I bet when you leave MTL you're disgusted at the lack of breakfast/brunch places. It really sucks here out west. In MTL you'll never have difficulty finding something to do.

Alberta/Saskatchewan have shortages of skilled construction workers at the moment, not Toronto or Montreal, but Americans can't just show up and try to get a job, thats illegal, jobs in Canada are for Canadians.

Not at all Mr.Nicky. In fact I almost got mugged the last time I was in Montreal. The real sick part it was in front of one of the Mountie stations when I was trying to make a call from a pay phone.

I bet you'd have a problem with Americans from Montana coming to Alberta to work.
There's plenty of work in Alberta and not enough other Canadians to do it (or not enough willing to relocate to do it), so why not let Americans come? So protectionist...

Canada should have closer ties with the US just because of the way it's set up. Ontario/NFLD is a long ways away from Alberta when western US is right there. But trade barriers just get in the way

yea Alberta was what the news was reporting, my bad
why is there a shortage of skiled workers than if all the jobs go to Canadians?
its illegal for U S citizens to try and find work in Canada?

WOW, maybe the US should implement these laws, maybe than the US construction wouldnt be in shambles diue to Mexicans

montreal has incredible restaurants.. even the bagels are great here.. great tasting food like smoked meat.. and the old montreal restaurants are unreal..

Tommy Lasorda has said it many times.. he loves montreal so much because we have the best restaurants in north america.. he loved our Italian Restaurants too.. we have it all here.. mathy, if you've been here in summer, it's unreal.. the weather is unreal, you got the jazz festival, ste catherine street with all 9's and 10's.. packed as hell.. Just for Laughs festival in July and Aug.. free concerts in July outside with 60,000 people.. nothing beats it.. it's like heaven up here in summer.

I was lucky that 2 Mountie were coming out of the station at the time the mugger approached me. He took off running, and didn't get a good look at his face.

I'm telling you sir, that place is a 24/7 crime wave type city.

Give me the "yes +140" for the max. Mr.Nicky. Kinda hard to get directions at times because not everyone speaks American though.

Almost everyone in Montreal speaks decent English

Especially anyone in the service industry. If you ever go again, ask your waitress. And if you don't have a waitress, then get in a restaurant!!!!

fiveteamer, how can you be born/raised in TO and never make the short trip?
