The story sounds iffy. First of all it was a 34 year old female driver. And then an off duty police officer was coinicidentally at the arena at the time she was driving the Zamboni noticing the erratic driving. Something doesn't add up.

Interesting. You suspect Zamboni-related hanky-panky then.

What is your theory? A set-up of some kind?

Couldn't really tell from the story, but was the rink closed and she just got in somehow to start ZUI, zamboning under the influence? Or did this happen during a game?

I'm not sure where you are from Pavy, but I am in Canada and I have played with police officers many a times. Heck I had 2 police officers and 1 RCMP officer on one of my goon league teams. The funny thing about this is that the RCMP officer was a dirty hockey player and dropped his gloves on several occasions. I must say it was really, really strange to see a police officer fight in a goon league game, but then again it was a goon league.

I'm saying the off duty officer is her lover and she wanted to do him on the Zamboni. When they were caught by the cameras they made up the story she was drunk and he gave her the ticket so that her husband wouldn't suspect anything.

A 34-year-old woman from Kingsville, Ont., has been charged with impaired driving - on a Zamboni.

Provincial police say an off-duty officer spotted the woman driving erratically on the ice resurfacer at Kingsville Arena on Thursday night.

The driver was missing major spots on the ice and bumping into the boards.

At one point, police allege the woman stopped the Zamboni and slumped over the steering wheel.

Police say they found a bottle of vodka on the woman, whose name was not released.

She was arrested and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and driving over the legal alcohol limit.

The woman is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 2 in Windsor, Ont.

Read the story again. The only witness is the off duty police officer and the woman in question.

Makes sense. It wouldn't be the first time things got hot and heavy on a Zamboni.

But if the story is on the level and she really was "missing major spots on the ice," I hope they throw the book at her.

I heard the off-duty cop was actually a CW collector and on his way to make some Canuck stiff pay up when this all happened. Hope he gets back on the trail tonight because I could sure use my cut of the take.

I agree. There's nothing worse than a puck being slowed by snow on the ice. I hope she gets 2 years + 1 day.

Amen brother. There may be some backwards places in this world where they shrug off that kind of disgraceful situation, but here in Canada, we don't take kindly to it. No sir, not one bit.
