Default i don't think they pistons are done just yet

heres the updated series price on the pistons:

    Miami Heat -400
    Detroit Pistons +360
I still feel the pistons could win this series. at this nice price, it's almost worth taking a shot IMO

    thoughts ?

there done BBD....there is no reason to believe they have anything. Since gm 3 of the CLEV series they have faded badly.

They're done.....The Heat are too good to lose 3 in a row.Shaq,Wade and Riley will win the championship this year....With wade playing the way he is its almost like re-living M-Jordan all over again.......The Pistons look confused and their coach(Flip) is confused........Forget risking your money on that series price BBD,instead find some odds on the Heat winning the 2006 NBA championship and ride that money train all the way to your bank!

Flip has lost control of this team. They aren't showing any championship poise whatsoever. I wouldn't be shocked if the Heat wrapped this series up in game 5 back in Detroit.

They should quicky make a trade with the knicks for larry brown,,Knicks should be willing to trade him for a bag of balls
That has a better chance of happing than the stones coming back

To come from 3-1 down, you have to have at least one blowout victory to get some momentum back, like Phoenix did in Game 5 against the Lakers.

I can't see Detroit winning any game by a large margin, and them winning Game 6 on the road looks very difficult. It seems a huge struggle for them to win any game since Game 3 of the Cleveland series.

The Pistons are not that good. Your eyes are not lying to you. The Heat are dominating the Pistons.

Yeah +360 isn't a great number to win 3 in a row IMO, even if two of the games are on home court.

I'm with you Dan, I'm not counting out the Pistons as much as everyone else - but I want more than +360.

I won't be putting money where my mouth is but I am definitely not sold on The Heat making it to the Championship series. The most difficult task they face is not just the Pistons. It is the Pistons/Referees. You can be certain that the refs will call these next games in the series quite favorably for the Pistons. That means you can look for foul trouble from Shaq and a lot of charges for Wade. The way I see it, Miami really only has one decent chance of winning the series and that is in Game 6. We'll see if the refs let them have a fair chance.

In playoffs when his team has a 3-1 game edge, Pat Riley is 11-0 in game 6.

That would mean Riley is 0-11 in GM 5 when he is up 3-1. Interesting.

Pistons will more and likely win game 5, but I think this series will be over in 6. With the way the Piston players looked yesterday durning the game, it seems to me they gave up in that 4th quarter and probably the series.

The Heat will really have to fcuk things up to blow this one, and I do not think Riley will let that happen.

Onlooker's got it right. I'd feel a lot less confident if VanGunky was still coaching The Heaters.

If I liked the future I would take my investment and subsequent winnings and let it ride on each game, expecting Pistons to be a dog at least once more.

    Considering the -255 line 1000 wins 392

    1392 +150 wins 2088 = 3480

    $3480 -255 = 4845 total - 1000 risked = 3845

Bettors won't expect Wade and Shaq to blow 3 so this should be a modest return right?

bad news bro....IMGV went broke and couldn't afford to pay his bookie anymore. Last I heard, he had picked up a second job as a night shift manager at Wendy's out in California. Hope things work out for him.

    I think so.

I was really speaking straight from the gut though. Seeing your hard numbers here - which look accurate - the posted series price is closer to the realistic mathematical expectation than I would have guessed.

And I see the series price on Detroit at Pinnacle is now up to +375. (Peculiarly, the line for Detroit to win in exactly 7 is +368. Just one of those things, I suppose.)

What do you mean by getting 2 games at +200, Brick?

It's good to see you again HB. I also think the Heat wrap this thing up tonight.

As for football, I am still in baseball mode and won't turn my attention to football into early August.

Well it will go 6. Thats where I think the Heat will win it. Friday night the Heat make the finals for the first time.

Here is the current line for Friday's game:
    Code:
    Pinnacle:

    Pistons +4 -108 ML +166 OVER 179 +101
    Heat -4 -102 ML -176 UNDER 179 -111

Like I said before, the only chance The Heat have is in Game 6 because that will be the only game where the officiating will allow them to play their style of basketball and put them on the line 50 times so they can make 30.

Where is that choking sound coming from???

The NBA finals this year is between Dallas and Phoenix. Either of these teams will cream Miami. Especially against the breakneck speed of the Suns Miami would look terrible.

A real pity that Raja Bell was out for games 2 and 3 (both Dallas wins), because the Suns would probably be up 3-1 with him. With the Spurs and, most likely, the Pistons out, the door would have been wide open to a PHX championship. Without Amare...

    Go Suns!

    Could be.

My thinking was that it got up to Det -6 last night right before gametime and I have to think that, if Detroit wins in Miami, they will have even more momentum in the eyes of the public.

    But you could be right.

A portion of the 6 last night was devoted to Detroit being in an elimination game against a team who had the luxury of a 2 game cushion. I think Illusion is right in saying that the line drops to 5 if not lower should the series go 7.

man im frekin heart broken is that true about IMGV94. Wow I hope gambling didn't trash my bro to the point where he hasto take a second job as a manager at Wendys. I think if IMGV94 could control his money management skills he'd be a successful gambler. What the f\*\*k happened to him? I know he'd bet some outraegeous units at times I hope it didn't catch up to him?? Does he even post anymore on this forum. It would be a shame if he wasn't around in the fall. on a pesrsonal note it's sad to see some of the original cats drop off like JJ Gold, Friday the 13th these where some real colorfull characters that had alot to add to this forum I hope they get there shit toghether and come back soon. Oh well as a humanitarian thing I hope they get right and we see them again.

Wow. I was just thinking the exact opposite. Phoenix is the team that does not belong, and would be the 4 seed at any book that might rank the remaining 4. Last time I checked, the Detroit Pistons are the only one of these teams that has won championships, EVER. In fact, while an argument could be made for Dallas, the two best teams remaining are in the East.
