George Dubya Bush did an amazing thing when you think about it. He took America from a position of extreme international sympathy and goodwill - immediately post 9-11 - to being one of the most hated countries on the planet. Looking back, his efficiency in accomplishing that was amazing.
And his foreign policy has pretty much guaranteed there will be anti-American terrorists for at least another generation.
So I think it would be a bit naive to think everything is hunky dory now - however the recent election will certainly have improved international goodwill. Progress is good.

Improved international goodwill? Europeans hate black people if you don't know this you haven't been to europe. Just look at the soccer games where EUFA cancelled some home games for teams that fans were yelling racial slurs. I'm ashamed to be an american now as all my relatives over there ask me how can you have a (you know) as a president? I tell them the guy brainwashed everyone to think he'll do everything he said but he won't do much.

I've been to 70 countries and counting, and have always been proud to be an American. If we lifted our visa restrictions and let anybody who wanted to be here come freely, our country would break away from Mexico and Canada, and sink under its own weight directly to the bottom of the ocean.
Must have been doing something right, even before the mighty and omniscient Obama was made president-elect, IMO ...
