    Default Lakers v. Mavericks....

The Lakers look unstoppable. Over 5 games, their average margin of victory is 22 points(highest in the league). The Mavs on the other hand look vulnerable. Right now the Lakers are -6.5 @ -108. I dont think the books know what to make of this team. The Lakers should be a bigger favorite here, but they are thinking Dallas is better than they are and the Lakers will come back to earth at some point. I dont see it. I think the Laker juggernaut just keeps on rollin'. Anyone have thoughts on this game?

That's a tough one, Z. Lakers have one of the best defenses in the league. They have only allowed 1 team to break 90 in the first 5 games. 2 went in the 80's and the last 2 in the 70's.

I'm on the lakers with all the squares while the going is still good. Can't see an argument for the Mavs here.

Dallas under this new coach like to push the ball up and down the floor. This will cause a fast tempo game up and down the floor

Is Josh Howard confirmed playing? I'm guessing that's why the line moved away from 5 to 6.5 back down to 5.5?

Josh Howard is DOUBTFUL to play.

Josh Howard does not have any long-term damage in his sprained left wrist, but is doubtful to play in the Mavericks game on Tuesday.

Howard was having trouble dribbling with his left hand last Friday and the Mavericks will probably keep him sidelined until he's close to 100%.

Lakers are the definate play here. They should crush this team by 15+.

Lakers lost 4 out 5 in Dallas last year.

The more I look at this game the more I love the Lakers. Dirk also called out his teammates after their loss to the Clippers the other night. Let me repeat that. Their LOSS to the CLIPPERS.

"If you don't compete hard, it's not about Xs and Os,'' Nowitzki said. "You can run whatever play you want. You can have all the schemes you want defensively. We've just got to push ourselves to play harder.
"I don't know what it is. I don't know what's going on. We don't leave it all out there, and that's what you've got to do.''
"We've got to compete,'' Nowitzki said. "That's on the players, on every single one of us.
"We've got to cut harder. We've got to defend harder. We've got to rebound hard. I just think we're coasting too much right now.
"We're not good enough to coast, as you saw tonight.''

    Also....
LA reporters talking to Chris Kaman asked about his friendship with Dirk Nowitzki since the pair of them played for Germany in the Olympics. Kaman and Nowitzki went to dinner Saturday night.

Said Kaman: "I talked to Dirk and he was saying they are not playing together, that they're not playing the right way,'' Kaman said. "I don't want to take anything away from Dallas, but I don't think they're on the same level as the Lakers or Jazz. They have the potential, but they're not there yet.''

Having the best team in the league come to town and missing Josh Howard again does not do this team any good. BTW...who's gonna guard Kobe??!

Pavy, that doesnt matter this year. Lakers are healthy and the Mavs are older and injured. If the Lakeshow can smoke Houston(who is better than the Mavs) by 29 at home. No reason they can't win in Dallas by 15+.

RT and Tricky- 1st half looking solid for the Mavs....I can only take solice in the fact that the Lakers were down 12 to the Rockets in the 1st Q last game....and then woke up and won by 29.
