I want to revolutionize monday night football. I would put it on HBO or Showtime(whichever is highest bidder). I would then do away with all announcers. It would strictly be micced up players. You watch it and hear the players at the same time. It would have to be on cable because of the cussing.

wasn't this actually tried in a major sport recently? Anyone remember.. I can't quite remember what it was.. but I seem to remember a sport, or one team in a major sport, broadcasting their games without announcers.. Maybe I just dreamt it or something. I don't know.

Over the years Identity, i have tried to avoid your threads like i would a case of the "clap", but for once you are spot on. Kornheiser is atrocious, hopefully this will be the last year we have to listen this bum. While there at it hopefully they will get rid of Emmit Smith as well.

ESPN has three guys on the game. One former NFL player for the football knowledge, one regular commentator, and Kornheiser. I think Kornheiser is supposed to give historical references, which would explain why so much of what he says has nothing to do with the game in progress. He has a prepared 'playbook' of what he is going to say, regardless of the game. The mistake is ESPN's, not his.
