Default Pat Summit's $1 million deal

Pat Summit will be the first women's basketball coach to earn a $1 million annual salary after agreeing to a new six-year deal with Tennessee today. Several years late, I might add, considering that she is tops among all NCAA basketball coaches with 913 career wins and has taken the Vols to six National Championships. She is now the second highest paid coach at the University, behind only football coach Phillip Fulmer. Thoughts?

    Sad, just sad.

She doesn't even coach a sport. Girls can't shoot worth shit. All you have to do to "coach" them is make sure they all box out. That is the only way points are scored.

Thats just pathetic that they would treat her like a real coach. Now all the other girl coaches will bitch and get this whole feminist sexism crap going and the next thing you know the receptionist will be sueing all the mens basketball coaches for harassment.

Coaching girls basketball is not even a full time job.

She is quite simply the best womens coach ever. I think she deserves every penny.

Alot of womens coaches look like womens bowlers. I highly doubt Pat is being paid for her looks.

good for Pat Summitt....the women's game has exploded in the past two decades. It use to be dormant and very little television coverage and interest.

Obviously it is no where near the interest level of the men's but it is clearly becoming profitable for a lot of high profile programs like Tenn and Conn. It will be interesting to see NCAAW basketball in the upcoming decade to see whether it can sustain all this success....

Run college sports like a business where the teams have to break even or make a profit for the school.Geesh,if that were the case Pat would be happy there is a minimum wage law in this country.hehe!

How good you are at something and what you actually produce that brings in money-income are two different things.I see vulgar repulsive rap stars who are tone deaf and can't read music ''can't read either''and they make 20 mill a year while some classical master symphony violin player who spent 300K for a juliard education makes 40 K a year and that has to be subsidised by taxes.
