I am a pretty big fan of colognes. Girls like a guy who uses cologne not so much b/c of the scent (although you'll get compliments b/c of that) but b/c cologne is a heuristic for a girl that a guy cares about his appearance. Trust me fellows, there is nothing as big a turn off for a girl as a guy who does not care about themselves and is always dissheveled....


Anyway...what kind of cologne do you use?

Currently I am using 3 colognes interchangably: Lacoste (red), Curdory, and Cool Water.

I am always looking to try other but want to hear about other's experiences.

Also some of the Adidas ones are good.

These are the only ones I can remember off the top of my head.
Having a good mix of colognes is a huge plus witht he ladies.

girls like guys who wear cologne....lot of heuristics are set off by it.

BB ... girls like guys ... thats how this place we live on works.

When we say that they like fast cars, cologne, big muscles, cash, big tadgers, etc ... we are really just guessing and trying to find clues as to what will work on them.

It is highly likely that they have differentiated personalities as much as men and just as men dont all like the same things in women (see the hot or not threads) the ladies probably go either way on stuff like this.

Based on my own life experiences I think girls like men who are comfortable with themselves, have big tadgers and, obviously, access to lots of cash doesnt turn them off. I should add at this point that I myself am very popular with the ladies.

There are many things that women like about men and cologne is DEFINITELY one of those many things.....Find a good cologne that smells good on you(believe it or not colognes smell different on different guys) and don't drown yourself in it.....Too much is not good......I have had many conversations started in the past from a woman telling me that my cologne smells good or she asked what kind I'm wearing.

Some women will think its either a bit gay or a bit 'old fashioned' or both.

Personally, I think its gay. I dont much care for women wearing perfume either. I find it a bit slapperish.

Natrass....there is not a shortage of guys who hang out online (especially on gambling forums) who are sensational when it comes to ladies...

But to the big picture of colognes here....

What do colognes do....

1) They tell a girl that a guy cares about himself and his appearance to others...a big plus for girls.

2) They make a guy smell good

3) They tell a girl that a guy is willing to spend some money (this may seem trivial, but in a college setting where most guys are on disability funds....a guy who can spend $40/$50 on a bottle of cologne is a plus for a lot of girls). Financially secure guys are a turn on...no girl wants to watch a movie from blockbuster every night.

4) They are good conversation starters as Big Dog points out....

5) During intimate situations, watch how often you get complemented on your scent....

6) Finally, women have a much strongers olfactory (sense of smell) sense then men do. A heightened sensation like cologne can trigger, no doubt, sexual thoughts related to the smell which is attached to the guy. In short, a girl is much more likely to be turned on by cologne then a guy is by perfume.



I am not saying you have to wear it everyday (at least try to put on an aftershave with a scent) but if you are trying to meet girls, wearing cologne does not hurt your chances it only helps.
