Have you matured as a gambler? If so, how?

I have over the last 6 months or so.

-better understanding that the popular play may not be the best play
-more attune and able to differentiate line movement
-can go days without action if there is little value
    -can accept loss.
    -understand errors in thinking

most importantly, make my own plays and rarely second guess.

For example, I believe both of these were "Steam" plays on the OVER.

These may lose but I am particularly proud I was able to make the plays despite seeing that information out there.

Yes, money management, first and foremost. I don't run out of money during the season anymore and therefore I am making a little money. I can now see "both sides" of the line now, instead of just one side. No longer parlay, very few if any props, and a tad bit better in the "big games" (Super Bowls, Finals, WS, Stanley Cup), hit the last three, missed SB by a Mendinghall fumble. I don't let injuries affect my betting like I did in the past. However, I still love futures, my weakness for sure.

The sbr spreadsheet has helped me. I used to use it to experiment and see how my new ways of betting were working out. Has definitely helped me for baseball in more ways than one.

They always say "money management"....at this point it is just a given...I don't play props but I wouldn't discount them either. If you are able to determine a good spot, it could be quite fun and profitable.

Sticking to my 1 to 5 unit money management and re adjusting my bankroll % unit size every 2 weeks has worked great for me. Focused more on sports that have been more profitable for me. Mma and college hoops seem to be my consistent sports. In turn more of my 3 to 5 unit plays have been in these sports.

I guess they call that advantage betting. Nice to see you varying your betting size, I use to do it all the time. Flat bettor now...it is just easier for me and has worked out quite well

Thats the one I need to work on the most. Today is a great example of it didn't like anything today but bet a small parlay that lost. Got to cut that crap out.

I drink wine now instead of beer when I'm doing my research... I think its safe to say I've matured

Seriously tho, the biggest thing I've learned is when to bet on my own teams. Some people say its a bad idea, but I think its easier because I'm more aware of even the smallest of changes within the team

Yes. Very rarely make action plays now, have learned A LOT from the TT and a few of the guys who have been kind enough to help me privately, and when my numbers are saying one thing but I feel the opposite I still go with the play most of the time. Past 2 months have been brutal for me although it seems to to be getting better again.

Stopped chasing loses a long time ago.No need to chase, there are games played every day. There are no such things as locks,if it looks to good to be true it usually is.

One thing I need to improve upon is my record keeping,I have to get more organized.

Why do you even gamble Shari...

You know you could pimp 87% of these guys for their bankrolls...

This would be +EV with hardly no risk...

Lately props have been very good to me. A lot of mistakes are made by lines there but they dont make those easy to find by design. I have matured but at the same time I go back to chase mode on occasion. Its just less often

I think for me it was learning to either have 2 dimes + to post up with or else just keep my money in my pocket. When I was younger I would throw 2 or 3 dollars in the book and just spew it away. I was constantly reloading even though I had an understanding of money management I just wasn't interested in grinding out 2-3$ per play on a 300 dollar BR. Now I save until I have enough to actually make it worth my time (personally) and I utilize the standard 1-5% play. I've learned many things through the years (touts, line services, public money, traps, modeling, Kelly vs Flat, mathematical approaches, advanced stats, trends are for tools etc) so I would say that I have matured as a bettor.
