    Default HoLlywoOd very misleading

let me start off by saying i made the follwoing prop bet. it was all i had in my account and its only 18 dollars but i feel decieived.

    1) BET ID=160765875
    Straight Wager 05/14/06 14:39 ET
37.20/18.60 (paid 37.20) Result: No Action
Dwyane Wade (Heat) Total Made 3 Point Field Goals
    Made 3 Pointers No Action
    Must Start 05/14/06 (15:35 ET)
    Under 1.5 (-200)

this was graded no action because he didnt attempt a 3. nice of them to let me know this afterwards. so tell me who is right, me or them. do i actually deserve a push here? i was a big player there but i will not deposit there again if i cant trust them

You got ripped off. They definately deceived you.

The person that made this decision on your wager deserves to have his jaw and nose broke for this mistake as well as paying you double on this wager.

Thats what justice should be. Next time, they deserve to have their office blown up. They think they are untouchable and can make the rules up as they go because you can't do a thing about it.

Well, you should be able to if we had real people in power and people that actually used power instead of wanting to be friendly with people that want to kill you.

so he either attempts just *1* or basically you lose. not to mention laying -200... well I know one other place I won't be depositing money into..

There's no reason why this bet should be a push. You have every right to be upset, I know I would be.

On the other hand, if you ever lose a game at Hollywood, you can always tell them that your pick didn't really try.

    GL resolving this.

lol sure it could work. or or...if say...Steve Nash falls down some stairs before gametime...and your Suns bet loses...they would cancel the wager I'm sure.

I don't care if this bet was 1 dollar..it needs to be fixed or hollywood is asking for a whole lot of bashing.

bubba, you got ripped off. I've made those O/U 3-pt. FG prop bets here in Las Vegas and of course you have action. The only stipulation is that the player must play to have action.

Did you know Hollywood has been bought out by the S-H-I-T book Sportingbet? After the buyout they closed the accounts on all players that showed a plus balance. Only the losers were allowed to stay. Get your $ out of there. Hollywood is pure S-H-I-T now.

Really? If that's true i'd drop the hammer on them in the ratings.

This is an unusual prop but I can't see any reason why they wouldn't grade it a win unless they explicitly stated "no action if no attempts". I wish someone from Hollywood would come to the board to explain this.

i know i am right but they didnt see it that way. i am too busy at work now to worry about 18 dollars, its more the principal of it that bothers me.

Has this been documented or is it purely idle speculation?

There's no gray area here. It's straight-up theft. The condition was the player "must start." Apart from being a well-known industry standard for this type of bet, it's right there in the blurb you copied. There's nothing about "player must chuck up at least one attempt."

The idea is absurd. I can't help but think that if you got a manager on the phone, you could get this straightened out. Like I say, it's not a gray area. I don't see how anyone who knows betting could argue with you.

Now every time someone asks a question about them for who-knows-how-long, I'll be posting about this incident and how they make up rules and can't be trusted.

    Enjoy the 18 dollars Hollywood.

Bubba, I have confirmed you will receive credit for the win. Hang in there while the bet goes into the props department for repairs.

    Default thanks for the support

its a tiny wager and barely worthe my time. but it comes down to why should i trust this book in the future? They tell me i should have called them to find out all the stipulations before placing the wager and they cant list them all. that loses my trust.thanks bill, i havent checked my account but its nice to know that it will be fixed. im not good at sticking up for myself and its nice to know i cant turn here for help in bigger matters in the future.

Some posters at The Rx have been told they are no longer welcomed at the "new" Hollywood and have had their accounts closed. What they do wrong? They showed a plus side on their account history.

So do the actions on some RX posters' accounts constitute definitive evidence that "all players that showed a plus balance" have had their accounts closed?

tacomax aka Sportingbet shill, If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, then its a duck. Their policy is to get rid of winners. They are not hiding that fact.

just got off live chat, nothing has been changed yet.....

Please wait for a site operator to respond. Your chat should be answered within 2 seconds. Thank you for your patience.

Hello, my name is Colin. How may I help you today?

You: hi, i had a bet wrongly graded a push on sunday. i was told on sportsbookreview.com that it would be corrected but it has not been done yet

Colin: Can I have the Bet ID number please?

    You: 160765875

Colin: Please bear with me while I look up your account details...

    You: still waiting.....

Colin: The Grading department have emailed you stating that the wager was graded correctly as no 3 pointer attempt was made. i have emailed them back now asking for this to be reviewed again.

You: i never received that email. i am not 1 to argue but everyone knows that i am right and it never said a 3 point fg must be attempted. the only stipulation was that he must start.

Colin: I understand completely and have already included that fact in the email to the Grading department
You: what are u saying you understand, that i am right?

Colin: In my persoanl understanding of the wager I would agree with you. But the final say does come from the grading department. Though I have stressed your case for you

You: ok, have a good night. thanks

The unfortunate thing is that this is Sportingbet all over. I don't think they're a bad bunch, they're certainly not a bunch of fly-by-night theives but time and again they make really dumb mistakes. I mean this is a problem over a $20 bet and this is a problem that would never happen if basic bookmaking practices were in place which are having clear terms and conditions for prop bets like this and sticking to them.

For the sake of a $20 bet they've made themselves look like a set of tossers.
