Default Free Taco's for American from Taco Bell on Tuesday Oct 28th

http://www.marketwatch.com/news/stor...D0AF171EC80%7D

Tampa Bay Shortstop Jason Bartlett Steals Millions of Free Tacos
Taco Bell(R)'s "Steal A Base, Steal A Taco" World Series(R) Offer Sealed in 5th Inning During Game 1 of 2008 World Series(R)

Last update: 11:59 p.m. EDT Oct. 22, 2008
IRVINE, Calif., Oct 22, 2008 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Hey America, are you ready for some free tacos? Tampa Bay Rays shortstop Jason Bartlett stole free tacos for America from Taco Bell(R), as he stole second base in the bottom of the 5th inning of Game 1 at the World Series. As promised, Americans will feast on millions of free Crunchy Seasoned Beef Tacos as Taco Bell's "Steal A Base, Steal A Taco" World Series promotion paid off for the second straight year.
Fans can visit any participating Taco Bell location on Tuesday, October 28, 2008 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. (local time) and claim their free Crunchy Seasoned Beef Taco.
"You know we had Jason pegged as the guy who might steal millions of tacos for America," said David Ovens, chief marketing officer, Taco Bell Corp. "This is one stolen base that goes into the record books more than just a stat, but as a steal that fed the country."
Tampa Bay Rays shortstop Jason Bartlett joins Boston Red Sox centerfielder Jacoby Ellsbury as the only two players in World Series history to have stolen millions of tacos for America. Ellsbury's steal of second base during Game 2 last year won millions of Americans free tacos. So while there are fans of pitching duels and the long ball, it seems the stolen base has now captured the hearts of millions during the World Series.
Taco Bell has a long history of "Think Outside the Bun(R)" promotions with Major League Baseball. In addition to last year's successful "Steal A Base, Steal A Taco" World Series promotion, the company has also placed its famous "Free Taco" target at multiple World Series games. Taco Bell is currently in its fifth year as an Official Sponsor of Major League Baseball.
No Purchase Necessary. Subject to Terms and Conditions available in-store and online at www.StealaBaseStealaTaco.com. Taco Bell(R) will offer every person in the U.S. the opportunity to obtain one (1) free Crunchy Seasoned Beef Taco (Approximate Retail Value 91c, prices may vary) at participating Taco Bell(R) restaurants in the United States on Tuesday, October 28, 2008 ("Redemption Date") only. To obtain the Free Taco, consumers must visit any participating Taco Bell(R) restaurant in one of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia between 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. (local time) on the Redemption Date only and request a Free Crunchy Seasoned Beef Taco. Limit one (1) Free Crunchy Seasoned Beef Taco per person. Void where prohibited. Offer valid at participating Taco Bell(R) locations. Portions (C)2008 Taco Bell Corp.

Why am I not surprised a fine dining establishment like Taco Bell would display this kind of generosity and class? Makes that $8.95 I spent there last night feel that much more warranted.

Taco Time, Taco John's...Both much better fast food mexican establishments. But if they are giving taco's away for free, might as well be a good samaritan and bring a whole homeless shelter with you!

Never get something like a steak burrito supreme at Taco Bell and go through the drive through. They give like one little sliver of steak and the rest is just beans.

Good point. I enjoy Taco Bell but don't even think I'd enjoy the taco they're giving away. It's free and all but probably not worth the incredibly long wait when either way, one taco isn't filling and you'd need to buy other stuff.

Nasty.

And giving it to the homeless would be cruel and unusual punishment.

Haven't they suffered enough without adding to their woes? Not even sure where to find a homeless person around here anyway, probably have to drive into San Antonio or up to Freaksville, aka Austin.

Taco Bell uses fresh ingredients and has the highest quality fast food there is. I know thats not saying much, but people bash it then go get a Big Mac or something, find it comical.

I live in So Cal ... If your not on a "tight budget" or a high school/college kid Taco Bell is the last place you go if you want good Mexican food. Its actually a pretty good marketing tool by Taco Bell what kind of guy walks into Taco Bell and says "Hi im here for my free taco from the world series game" Your going to order a drink and probably some other crap food off of their menu so you dont look like a scumbag. (Just a thought when i was in high school my girlfriend worked at the local taco bell if you watched the sodium that rises out of the meat packets or had a look at the food you wouldnt be asking for a free taco trust me.)

I thought you lived in California. Taco Bell isn't even close to In'n'Out Burger in terms of quality or fresh ingredients.

I don't eat fast food often especially taco bell. Believe it or not one of the only Bells here in NYC is one of those whole in the wall no seating jobs in penn station. However, when I do eat taco bell I am reminded that I should strive to eat every meal there. I don't care if they make that meat out of fvcking people, its delicious.

What's funny is the Taco Bell president was interviewed on the air and he gave a date in November! Good job there.

and yeah it isn't worth it. I don't eat fast food and I wouldn't do it here with the wait. They advertised it so heavily that lines will be out the door at every location, especially in the poor neighborhoods. What's funny is the thousands of people that will show up for free tacos on the date announced on TV.

Why only Americans benefit from this promotion? Are the Toronto Blue Jays fans discriminated unfairly?
